As a list maker and lover, and sometimes it must be said, forgetter of things I love and need-this week I'm noting all the lovely items we've been sent for review recently that are making me smile!
Last weekend saw us head to the stunning Ox Pasture Hall Hotel for a weekend break. You can read our review HERE-warming you will want to either get a train or move to Yorkshire as soon as you do and you'll feel very hungry!
We're often kindly offered breaks away thanks to this blog here but they're usually a little far for us to head to for a weekend now that Oliver has started school...However, thanks to the lovely The Boy and Me who recommended us to review the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, we found ourselves not too far from home, in the picturesque seaside town of Scarborough for a gloriously sunny weekend of fresh country air, fine food and family fun!
Anyone else feeling a little drained as we approach the end of the first term for our school starters? (Say yes, tell me it's not just me, please)!
If you are, you'll no doubt relate to this list below!
I'm not the greatest sleeper, I never have been really and in the words of my mother my, "energy has always been boundless". My kids seemed to have taken after me (which is good and bad).
The words you've always wanted to hear, oh and the actions too-eating rice crispies off the playroom floor from plastic bowls. I've never been so proud.
My clever, sometimes crazy twosome playing dog. Inevitably I had to take a picture of it, if only to bribe them in their teenage years.
Folks, it's nearly Christmas! I know, it's hard to believe as it's only just October tomorrow but before you know it, you'll be buying Christmas trees and posting off letters to Santa (I've already got my hand hovering over the Chanel site, crossing fingers and toes)!
So those reading my blog last week will know, it was a pretty rubbish time for myself and Alexander. A lot of tears were shed (by us both).
The nursery induction was hard going, which is inevitable but it was worse than expected, Alexander was beside himself and despite another session with me, he just wasn't settling, my toddler wasn't ready.
When yoga's not in my life I'll be honest, I feel pretty rubbish, and I did for a lot of the summer- along with eating far too much sugar, I let my exercise routine go to the wayside, I stopped running and yoga and quickly felt the healthy glow diminish along with my energy levels.
So this morning we took the cute pictures of my toddler Alexander, just 2, in his nursery uniform, the same nursery that his older brother Oliver attended (and pre-school) and loved dearly- and we all smiled sweetly as my nerves were building...another day, another huge milestone for us all (after Oliver started school only last week)!
It's funny how things can work out just when you need them to...I was feeling a bit down in the dumps that I'd not seen some of my closest London buddies for what feels like forever when I received a text from my male best friend Will that he'd be in town for an anesthetist conference pretty much round the corner from where I live in Yorkshire-yay!
I'm honoured to announce a collaborative competition with stunningly stylish Christy (established 1850) where one lucky reader will win over £350 worth of luxe bedding, towels, robes and candles from their new home fragrance collection.
Oliver started school just under a week ago so I thought I'd share what that's actually meant for us both, the reality of my 4 year old beginning the biggest chapter of his little life. I'd love to hear your experiences in the comments...
Here's what to expect when your kids starts school...
