Hi, I’m Vicki, blogger, vlogger and #1 bestselling author of MumBoss®. Welcome to my multi-award winning parenting and lifestyle blog, Honest Mum®, a space where I share family life, recipes, fashion, film and travel. I’m plant-based so share a lot of vegan recipes but my family eat all sorts of food so you’ll find everything here.
A former TV and film director, I set up my blog in November 2010 whilst on maternity leave as way to help me rediscover my voice and also regain confidence again after suffering a traumatic birth. Blogging and vlogging soon became my full-time career, taking my work from mostly behind the camera to firmly in front.
I feel privileged to be able to share my own experiences and know-how here with the goal to inspire other parents to become digital creatives themselves.
Becoming a professional blogger and vlogger is a stimulating, empowering and rewarding way to work around a family and has frankly, changed my life.
…I’m also currently developing several exciting projects for the screen (both big and small) and my debut book Mumboss®, published by Piatkus/Little Brown/Hachette, is out now! You can order it HERE.
I’m proud to have made blogging history when I signed to be Jet2.com and Jet2holidays‘ first ever official digital ambassador (no one else in the UK at the time had represented an airline) and will never forget filming on my very own plane for the day!
I was also an ambassador for Herbal Essences *flicks hair -and work across many lanes in the blogging field, sharing all of my passions here on the blog be it bespoke family-friendly recipes I regularly rustle up to must-have hair and beauty products you need in your life, and beyond!
For all business and PR enquiries, please contact my manager Jack Freud at Jackf@ippublicity.com.
So, who am I exactly?
I’m an entrepreneurial mum of of two who lives with her husband, Peter, and two young children, Oliver, 8 and Alexander, 5 in Windsor, Berkshire.
I’m committed to helping fellow parents feel more confident and kick-ass about themselves as my blog posts testify, and Honest Mum is my space to share, connect and support others.
I sometimes pop up on telly too. You can check out my showreel below if you fancy a look:

When it comes to work-
I’m a multi-award winning blogger, vlogger, TV Director and filmmaker, writing, directing, producing and featuring in campaigns for a wide and diverse range of clients naming but a few here, including Google, Yahoo, Coca Cola, McDonald’s, Land Rover, Philips, Selfridges, Net-A-Porter, H&M, NIVEA UK, Boots, bareMinerals UK, Superdrug and many more.
I also regularly give keynote speeches and contribute to discussion panels about my career and the power of digital.
I recently spoke about my entrepreneurial journey on a STEM panel at the House of Commons on International Women’s Day 2018 and I’ve shared my insight into creating a personal brand at many events including Marie Claire’s Future Shapers Live, Mode’s Influencers panel at The Advertising Internet Bureau, Red Magazine’s Career in Tech day in association with SKY and BritMums Live as well as part of annual conference events Jessica Huie MBE and I founded in 2015 titled ‘Passion into Pounds’.
Passion Into Pounds first launched in collaboration with Stylist Magazine’s #Reclaimyourlunchbreak campaign and is now hosted in collaboration with the British Library. Last year’s event trended on Twitter and was broadcast live to entrepreneurs in Business Centres across 8 countries in Africa.
It was an electric evening.
Another career highlight was speaking at Mosaic, a charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales as part of the Prince’s Trust where I gave a keynote speech on my career to three classes of primary school children. There, I spoke of going from a young, determined tween who would beg her father to hire VHS cameras from the local video shop to a multi-award winning director, and now blogger and vlogger.
My work is often covered in the national and international press too which means a lot to me (and never fails to make my parents proud)! You can read more on that on my Press Page.
My family and I do also love a film premiere!
I was honoured to attend A Wrinkle In Time’s European premiere, interviewing Oscar-nominated director Ava DuVernay and actress Storm Reid beforehand, as well as having the privilege of sitting at a Q & A with Oprah and Reese Witherspoon prior to the film screening.
You can also check out my others posts including a special screening of Wonder with a Q &A with Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, as well as attending premieres for Incredibles 2, Eddie the Eagle, Paddington, Shaun the Sheep and Get Santa.
What a joy and privilege.
To garner insight into my work behind the camera, please check out my directing reel below which includes clips of short films, TV drama, documentaries, commercials, promos & fashion films I’ve directed and produced.
Got a question? Then, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’d love to hear from you!
