When Alexander was 3 weeks old, I was asked if I could pop by and give a lecture on my career as a writer/director at the Northern Film School/Leeds Metropolitan University. Despite being pretty sleep deprived and foggy headed, I agreed. You see overall I felt great-I was buzzing from the birth and physically and emotionally strong enough to go in for a couple of hours.
Oliver is the lucky recipient of a lot of my blogger perks and this bike from Kiddie Bikes really made his day. As soon as he saw it, he started shouting, " Wow look at my motorbike, I'm going to go so fast on it" before leaping straight on and literally 'vrooming' around the house on it.
Sunday was a perfectly sunny Autumnal day so we hit the park to enjoy the rays. Oliver adores his Strider ST3 Balance Pre Bike kindly sent to us earlier in the year from Learning Early. You can watch his excitement at opening his present here.
To help spread the word in the blogging community about ONE-an advocacy organisation dedicated to fighting poverty in Africa, blogger Clare, from Seasider In The City, has devised a fun meme, taking the first letters from ONEMums (or ONEMoms) to create words or phrases that help explain what being a mum is to you.
Last night something amazing happened. My gorgeous friend Jess Huie (publicist and founder of the wonderful multicultural cards and gift company Colorblind Cards) arranged for JLS, friends of hers to call my younger cousin Solos.
Baby Alexander was born on the 20th of September at 10.52am, weighing 8lbs 2. We are all truly besotted with our little man, especially big brother Oliver who utterly adores him. There are some very sweet pictures of the boys together on my FB Honest Mum page.
My husband (and quite possibly my toddler's) take on nesting is involving baking-a lot of baking, like every evening this week. I'm not complaining, although my thighs might be when I finally get back on the treadmill post baby.
I appear to be in full on crazy lady nesting mode right now and find myself obsessively organising like crazy. Even my Tivo box favourite shows are in order of preference (Kardashians and back issues of TOWIE first)-what I'm pregnant... and yesterday saw me sorting out my husband's sock drawer. In my defence I was high on Celebrations chocolates and the latest episode of Corrie.
