I often think of my far away family and more so now the new baby is nearly here. As a British born Greek Cypriot, my beloved 95 year old Grandma (Yiayia) lives in Cyprus with the majority of my father's family and my husband is an English South African whose relatives live in Port Elizabeth.
In keeping with my light hearted Friday fun posts, I thought I'd bring you Celebrity Mothers of Sons-just because, well I'll soon be a mama of two boys myself and I want to know which celebs have boys too, get some style tips and indulge in a futile but fun post. Enjoy!
I'm going through that stage where I physically can't wait to meet my baby and see his little face. You know that crazy 'time-stops-still' moment where they hand you your offspring for the first time and you remain in shock for the next two years, yeah that...
I feel super lucky that the generous folks at Photo-Canvas offered to send us two 60x40 canvases using photos of our choice. We had to select our little star for one of them and also opted for a stunning landscape that my gifted husband Peter took of the view from the garden.
I'm so grateful to receive beautiful blogger's perks and was literally bowled over when the fabulous family run online boutique The Essential One sent us stunning gifts for Baby No 2.
Now I'm not saying I often get a pizza delivered on a Saturday night. I'm not even saying I know the names of most of the delivery guys. And I'm definitely not saying I keep a lookout for the voucher SMS's from our local Domino's.
Preparing for Baby No 2's arrival got me thinking back to other monumental days and most recently our wedding day-we celebrated our 7 year anniversary (6 years since the Greek wedding, 7 since the English) last month and time has truly flown by!
Pregnancy means missing out on a few of those much loved luxuries: wine, champagne, soft cheese, liver (yes really, I adore it) so I've compiled a list of things I'll be relishing on once baby is here! Enjoy!
This is more a reminder for myself -now that my hospital bag checklist is written up (and about to be packed) I started thinking about the neccesities I'll need post baby-the vitamins and remedies below were total emotional life savers when I had Oliver and I'm hoping they work their magic again this time round. Remember I'm not a Dr so please ask yours or your midwife before taking anything.
Now that I'm 31 weeks along, I've started to think more about the inevitable birth. I can't wait to meet my little newborn boy and dug out a few pictures of toddler Oliver's first few days with us to reminisce/prepare/freak out!
No internet connection or phone signal nor desire to use them: check.
Breathtaking views from your rented 300 year old cottage overlooking Llangollen's riverside, castle remains and rolling hills: check. Argh Wales, I think I love you.
BritMums Live (for those of who don't know) is the blogging conference of the century, bringing together fabulous bloggers from all over the UK and sometimes further afield, along with inspiring, informative speakers-par example Ruby Wax, Sarah Brown, Katy Hill and others and throwing in tonnes of educational workshops from (getting published to understanding the law), cake and of course cool sponsors to network with.
The blogging event of the century: BritMums Live is nearly upon us and I'm soooo excited to meet you all. Merging my two worlds of directing and blogging, I'll be there with camera kit and husband Peter shooting in tow, making a promo film for BritMums over the next 2 days.
The family and I visited the wondrous Brimham Rocks in Ripon, Yorkshire the other week. The sun was shining and we felt like we'd gone back in time (or were on the set of a Flinstones live action movie at the very least) as the rocks were formed 380 million years ago.
I love to rock a vintage frock so when Little Vintage got in touch offering to send some stunning vintage clothes for the toddler, I was simply ecstatic! The coolest of clothes from newborn to 6+, this online vintage boutique is the first of it’s kind and brings beautifully made, vintage pieces from all over the world into one place.
