A complimentary stay.
I’ve never been to Fareham before and after visiting this weekend, I admittedly can’t tell you much about the area other than the Solent Hotel and Spa where we spent two tranquil nights, is well worth a visit.
More resort-like than a 4 star hotel, it’s an ideal spot for families as there’s so much to do there and everything is located for your ease, luxurious but accessible and stress-free.
With a state-of-the-art gym, vast pool with adjacent baby pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, (with the pool staying open to families all weekend long), as well as a superb spa (hello hot tub) offering treatments exclusively by Caudalie Paris, as well as as on-site AA Rosette restaurant, and a cafe and bar, once we checked in, we honestly never wanted to check out!
I heart a massage as you can see (literally)!
And this one below never wants to be far from his Mama….
Xander wanted to pop into the hot tub with me but it was too hot for a little one making it the perfect time some for self-care for me!
…Now, despite our love of exploring the places we visit, after a busy week of new after-school clubs for the kids, a shoot with Rankin (I know!) and a late arrival on Friday night, Peter and I committed to simply chilling out with the boys for our stay, and that’s exactly what we did. We lapped up uninterrupted quality time with one another, nourishing food, fun in the pool, a massage for me and a run to boot, and enjoyed every minute.
Well apart from the bit when Oliver told me it’s not cool to receive kisses from your Mummy anymore *cry!
….Isn’t the decor just gorgeous?
Being close to Portsmouth, the hotel is fittingly marine-themed and our spacious family suite also referenced the sea with its plush blue and grey furnishings and decor. It housed a huge Queen sized bed in its centre and a sofa bed which turned into 2 comfortable singles for the boys beside us too.
The thoughtful extras for the children with activity books, fruit, chocolates, flavoured water and mini dressing gowns and slippers made the them feel at home the minute they arrived.
Newly refurbished, I loved the country-chic feel to the interiors which made for a warm and welcoming environment for all. Definite house goals!
The 3 course dinner we enjoyed along with the breakfasts on both mornings were well presented and tasty, with lots of options for our various dietary requirements (I’m vegan, the kids can’t eat dairy and eggs, respectively).
The staff were upbeat and genuinely helpful, even giving us a ‘Doggy bag’ for fruit in the morning to keep the kids full in between meals.
What a rejuvenating stay. I’ve returned home a brand new girl!
Thank you Solent Hotel and Spa.
Disclosure: A two night stay in a family suite, massage, dinner and breakfast on both days, were complimentary in return for this honest review.
