So it’s week 15 on the Fast Diet (not counting the 5 week break after week 11) which actually typing finger to post, seems like a long time-3 and a bit months. It really is working and like its name suggests, I’ve found it fairly fast when it comes to results.
Some days however are harder than others, Tuesday this week was a total nightmare, the limited calorie allowance really affected me that day-I was overtired from a teething baby and restless toddler from the night before with a lot of work on and many a deadline.
I felt over sensitive and exhausted and should have thrown the towel in and started again on another day. My imminent holiday prevented me from that though and the fact that on the whole, I do find fast days doable. I didn’t want it to beat me. Sometimes I’m an idiot.
I always eat around 8-900 cals not 500 on fast days, making vats pots of lentil soup which I eat for my main meals (even as a late breakfast) and which the family love, snacking on sunflower seeds, apples and mouse size portions of cheese through the day. Today, my second fast day of the week in contrast, was absolutely fine. I haven’t felt very hungry and my energy levels have been up all day. I really think the success of the day i.e my mood relies on the time of the month and how much sleep I’ve had the night before the fast day.
…Alexander turned 9 months today and although my tummy isn’t back to how it was (I never expected it to this soon post section anyway), I’m wearing a lot of my pre pregnancy wardrobe. Yes there are areas that need more exercise, toning and weightloss but I’m happy, more confident and hoping swimming on holiday will help when I’m away.
I do think this diet, started post breastfeeding when Alexander was 3 months old, has meant a steady, healthy weight loss for me and I love the benefits of clearer skin and stronger hair not to mention the most important factors of all, the fact it promotes health and prevents disease.
Lentil soup anyone?
