From the moment they're born they melt your heart. This week Oliver has been utterly adorable planting kisses on me at every opportunity and telling me I'm beautiful. He's a charmer, alright. I wanted to share this picture of him with you all. I'm so proud of what a fine and funny young boy he is growing into you. He sure makes me a better person by the day.
Two days ago my beautiful and intelligent Grandmother, Vikentia turned 95. Amazing. My Dad's family live forever thankfully-his Grandmother died at 113. For real. It's that naturally organic food and sunshine. Good for the soul.
I understand that the tantrumming, moments of mad frustration, yelling, kicking and pinching are all par for the course for a terrible two year old 'undergoing the change': the tumultuous journey towards independence. But what of the sanity of the 31 year old mother?
Woop Woop! Today I had a three month scan as there is most definitely a little bun in the oven: a sibling for my 2 year old. We are all very excited. On hearing the news, said 2 year old (and 2 months) stated, "Where is it? Want to see it? Cut it out".
It's a hard one. When Demi Moore stripped bare for her 91 Vanity Fair Cover at seven months pregnant, some said it was a feminist stance, celebrating her new found form, others felt it a controversial move by an actress in constant need of attention.
I pondered as to whether I should write this or not. What happened yesterday was pretty upsetting. Ultimately I concluded it was for the best to write it down. Might help another mother who takes her eyes off her child for one split milisecond.
My otherwise healthy little toddler suffered from chronic ear infections (otherwise known as Glue Ear) from June last year until December but has seemed to have knocked them on the head (for the longest time) anyway in the last couple of months.

My post No Boys Allowed got a lot of debate going on on the blog the other day and some women mentioned little girls' clothes were much more fun and they found greater choice for girls, struggling with boys' gear for their own or for presents.
I remembered something I read on facebook a few months back, today and it really grated on me. A woman I barely knew but met through other mothers, commented after her 20 week scan that she was, "relieved she was having another girl". It startled me a little.
Have you forgotten it already? Shame on you. Too busy tweeting, face-booking and living your life online were you? ET phoned home back in the 80's- was that the last time you did too?

...Since a new man entered my life that cold January two years ago, my heart belongs to him. I still gave my husband Peter a pretty card I made, including the heartfelt words of, "You're the best husband in the world and would be nearly perfect if you managed to put your dirty socks in the wash basket" scribbled lovingly inside.
