I’ve just spotted this ‘Weekend in Pictures’ post in drafts I forgot to publish a few weeks ago, so here it is: a forgotten Sunday at the staggeringly beautiful National Trust park, Cliveden.
With miles of woodland paths, picnic spots by the river bank and extensive views across Berkshire, Cliveden is one of our most beloved spots here, and I urge you to visit if you haven’t already.
Tourists stopped me in Windsor yesterday asking where they should visit and Cliveden was up there as my must-visit destinations. Of course a well known Meghan made it even more famous recently too with a stay at another firm favourite Cliveden House Hotel.
If you’re heading to the NT Park, there’s a programme of activity for families with nature trails, outdoor theatre and a Japanese inspired Water Garden to enjoy. The playground with it’s wooden structures, slides and swings and many cafes and ice cream stalls will keep the kids happy too.
My two love to walk the many steep steps down to the river to observe the wildlife, play pooh sticks, and of course dip bread sticks into hummus as the sun warms our skin.
They are never happier than whiling away an easy, breezy Sunday at Cliveden, caps on, living their best lives.
It’s wonderful as we return home and notice 20,000 steps wracked up on the FitBit, a milestone which went unnoticed thanks to all the naturally aerobic fun.
