Life lately has been insanely busy (in a good way). We finally bought our forever home in Harrogate after a year of searching, including walking away from a house close to completion in the process. It’s a beautiful property which requires some work before we can move in. The builders started this week so the countdown of 2 months is on and then I can start cheating on fashion (mostly Florence’s) with furniture Carrie Bradshaw style.
We’ll miss our folks who kindly put us up during our Yorkshire search but they can come live with us (!) if they decide to downside or hopefully nearby, if they don’t fancy that! We’re pretty full-on, especially our active little Florence!
This morning saw me back on ITV’s Good Morning Britain discussing whether we should text our kids or not when we’re in the same house. I said yes and asked me stop the guilt-inducing pressure as we parents, especially mothers have enough on our plates. Texting is the equivalent of my Mum using a bell at the bottom of the stairs when my brother and I were little. Try living with a teenager who has his headphones permanently stuck on his head and tell me you won’t text him to tell him dinner is ready or that he needs to unload the dishwasher! Tech doesn’t replace face-to-face communication or eating together every evening, tech-free at that, as we do, it’s about practical parenting and making life easier as it’s hard enough!
Thanks to TLM Edit for the beautiful red and black leopard print dress I wore.
I’ve been appearing on the show since its inception but today was the first time I was given a dressing room of my own to use. I must be moving up in the world-ha! It was a lovely treat to take my Mum to London with me again (she came with me last time I was on GMB). We were totally spoiled by ITV at the K West Hotel last night where I had the best nights sleep in a huge Queen size bed (so needed). Some rare mother-daughter time without children and distractions of life was blissful. A plant-based brunch of apple and cranberry oat milk porridge and elevated avo and seeds on toasted sourdough followed at Le Pain Quotidien at St Pancras station before catching our train from King Cross and making the school pick-up at 5 pm. Impressive!
…I’m also sharing some recent pictures of stunning pieces Phase Eight kindly gifted me from their A/W collection spanning a red woollen coat, two perfect LBDs (ribbed bodycon style and A line mini with Peter Pan collar) and some leather ankle, crock print style boots. Dreamy. Roll on the festive season with that coat, huh?! There’s a competition on my Instagram where you can win £150 to spend on Phase Eight. Good luck!
That’s it for now, I’ll be back with more updates soon. Stay safe and happy folks x
