Having recently returned from stunning Halkidiki, I had to share some foodie stills from our time there. The abundant fruit growing from trees (including vineyards, pomegranate and banana trees) and olive trees of course as far as the eye could see meant eating seasonal, fresh food every day!
My Mum knocked up her famous summer berry trifle for a family dinner party a few weeks ago, right before she sadly broke her foot which promptly put a stop to any trifle making or baking but I wanted to share her utterly divine summer berry trifle, ideal for summer al fresco dinners or just because! And isn't she pretty?!
This summer has involved a whole lot of ice cream scoffing for all of us and now it's time to get back on the saddle of health and eat well again.
Saturday saw me being invited to review Hotel Chocolat's restaurant Roast + Conch in Leeds-their second fine dining restaurant in the UK with the first in Borough Market, London and the original created in 2011...
Quinces are the most beautiful of all fruits with a strong aromatic perfume. The ancient Greeks considered quinces to be the symbol of fertility and dedicated them to the goddess of love.
I'm recently back and just about recovered from, an incredible time at the Cannes Film Festival. If you missed my post all about the films, fashion and general fabulosity (that's a word, right?) of the fest, you can read it HERE. Truly exquisite food and films were consumed during my time there along with the most glamorous parties I've been to and this was my third and so far most favourite time at the festival.
On last week's date night, Peter had to share me with 8 others (hey, not like that you naughty ones at the back)...we were invited along with several other food bloggers to review new Leeds eaterie COSMO which opened in November 2013...
George Psarias (Papa G) is back again for Tasty Tuesdays with this delicious Greek chicken dish. George often appears on national and Greek TV cooking traditional and modern Greek dishes. He owns three multi- award winning The Olive Tree Restaurants in Leeds. George regularly writes for magazines and newspapers.
Perfect for the winter and ideal for those eating a low carb, paleo diet, Papa G's traditional Cypriot dish of pork with wine and coriander is both tasty and filling.
I was asked to share Kate Garraway's Rudolph Red Velvet Cupcakes for Tasty Tuesdays and I think you'll agree they look fabulously festive, perfect Christmas Eve fun with your little ones!
I adore these!
Happy Halloween all! Just look at these humongous pumpkins we discovered at the Whole Hog Farm Shop & Tearoom in Pickering, Yorkshire recently. I know Theo has already made an appearance on the blog but for those who missed him, here he is with his little pumpkin friends.
Papa G recently rustled up one of my favourite Friday night dinners and I wanted to share this simple yet delicious iron filled fillet steak with spinach and asparagus dish.
Papa G is back with his scrumptious fried Greek squid (calamari).
I was asked to share a fabulous competition with you offering you the chance to win a fabulous Range cooker worth £995 and I'm also entering myself!
Admittedly I usually guess how to joint a chicken for soups and yesterday I made a large vat of chicken soup jointing a whole chicken I had in the fridge.
Sitting in a window seat of The Olive Tree I felt grateful we were indoors. Yorkshire was doing what only Yorkshire can do on a cricket day – rain.
These spelt pancakes really hit the spot.
When you think steakhouse, you think grotty, dark, dated pseudo yank style eateries in Leicester Square right? Well think again. In fear of sounding like a M&S ad parody, Miller & Carter are not just any old Steakhouse, but a gourmet steakhouse.
I can't quite believe I'm now towards the end of Week 7 of Dr Moseley's Fast Diet. It really doesn't feel like a diet but a way of life (I know everyone says that, but this really DOES feel so easy) and the results are as fast as the name suggests. I don't weigh myself but I go on my clothes and I managed to pour myself into a UK size 10 Topshop dress (with a zip so not stretchy) last Saturday night (see evidence above) so you know, booty shake Beyonce style and all that. Whoop, whoop!
