Wonderful Women: Interview with Linda Kozlowski, Actress and Founder of Bespoke Tour Company Dream My Destiny

Linda Kozlowski

Linda Kozlowski is an acclaimed actress (best known as the leading lady in the Crocodile Dundee movie trilogy) and was married for many years to Australian film icon Paul Hogan.

As a recently divorced mum, Linda is embracing her latest role with an adventurous new travel business in Morocco.

After falling in love with the country, she recently launched Dream My Destiny, a bespoke Marrakech-based tour company with her partner Moulay Hafid Baba.

Baba – as he’s affectionately known – has more than 25 years experience facilitating film shoots in Morocco and privately guiding select clients.

Through Linda’s years of travel and location shoots as an actress, she developed a keen and exacting eye for finding the best of the best…be it restaurants, hotels, shopping, spas or just a magical place to relax.

Together Linda and Baba make the perfect team, offering clients a truly customized luxe experience!

Here Linda lets me into her world:

Describe a typical day for you?

On a typical day in Marrakech we awake to the haunting sound of the call to prayer and go for a jog in the Menara Gardens amongst the olive groves.

Then, home to shower and a delicious Moroccan breakfast, consisting of mint tea, fresh Moroccan bread, olive oil, amalou (a delicious spread consisting of ground almonds, honey and argon oil), cheeses, local fruit and fresh squeezed orange juice.

The afternoon consists of shopping for spices, fish or veggies in the stalls of the Souk Semmarine in the medina, and connecting with our clients to plan our next tour, or scouting the latest new restaurant or riad in town. In the evenings, we often enjoy a hammam spa for some relaxation or a stroll as the sun sets in one of Marrakech’s many beautiful gardens.

Nighttime is also great for catching up with friends for a light dinner in an outdoor cafe and watching the colorful life of Marrakech roll by!

What do you feel are your biggest achievements?

My biggest achievement is raising my very cool 16-year-old son, Chance, followed by surviving Hollywood and now, starting a whole new existence midlife!!!

What’s in your handbag?

In my handbag.I always carry my white Samsung Note and Dream My Destiny business cards as well as Moroccan Kohl for my eyes and lip balm, a small vial of Moroccan Argan oil for skin and hair to use anytime, anywhere!

What are your ambitions in life?

My ambitions now are to continue to work hard with my tour company well underway and to enjoy the wonderful people and experiences that cross my path as a consequence of this endeavor. I also want to keep traveling and start a line of Moroccan-inspired clothing down the line!

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

In five years I hope to be healthy, happy and maybe living in the country …an olive farm and donkey sanctuary in the outskirts of Marrakech sounds wonderful!

What advice would you give a budding actress/ entrepreneur?

Never give up, never second-guess yourself and never compromise your vision. If you do, you’ll regret it every time!

Happiness is….

Happiness is being with the people you love and watching the sun set over the Sahara.
