Hi, I’m Vicki, multi award-winning blogger, vlogger and #1 bestselling author of MumBoss®.
Welcome to my parenting and lifestyle blog, Honest Mum®, a space where I share my loves in one place spanning family life, food, fashion, beauty, film, tech, business and travel.
A former TV and film director, I set up my blog in November 2010 while on maternity leave as way to help me rediscover my voice and regain my confidence after suffering from a traumatic birth. Blogging and vlogging soon became my full-time job taking my work from mostly behind the camera to firmly in front.
You might have seen me on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, Lorraine, Channel 5 News or SKY News.
Honest Mum also recently won Best Baby and Parent Blog at the UK Blog Awards 2019.
I feel privileged to be able to share my own experiences as a parent and freelancer, both here and in the press.
Becoming a professional blogger, vlogger and now, author has proven to be an empowering and incredibly rewarding way to work around my young family, and my mission is to help mobilise other mothers whom are so often handed a short straw in the workplace.
My debut book Mumboss®, published by Piatkus/Little Brown/Hachette in May 2018 supports this vision, and became a number 1 Amazon bestseller on release, and was listed in the top 10 business books written by women by the Independent.
Below I’ve listed a few more career milestones I’ll grateful for:
I interviewed the wonderful Westlife men on their reunion, new tour and fatherhood!
My son Oliver, 9, and I were also recently photographed by world-renowned photographer Rankin, for a global campaign, book and exhibition celebrating maternal love. It was an honour to be captured by someone who has photographed Her Majesty the Queen and I can’t wait to attend the exhibition with my family.
I’m also incredibly proud to have made blogging history when I signed to become Jet2.com and Jet2holidays‘ first ever official digital ambassador (no one else in the UK at the time had represented an airline) breaking new ground for digital creatives.
I have also featured or written for the below:

I have also contributed to a a Government Equalities Office Stakeholder Forum on equality and economic empowerment, to help inform strategy proposed to the government.

A career highlight was speaking at Mosaic, a charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales as part of the Prince’s Trust where I gave a keynote speech on my career to three classes of primary school children. There, I spoke of going from a young, determined tween who would beg her father to hire VHS cameras from the local video shop, to a multi-award winning director and blogger and vlogger.
I love that my online space allows me share my life and opinions while enabling me to advocate for greater support for maternal mental health and flexible working.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by, it’s truly appreciated.
