Vegan Marinated Tofu Recipe in Rice Wine Vinegar and Chilli - Honest Mum recipe

Vegan food is anything but boring and this is testimony to that face: marinated tofu in rice wine vinegar and chilli that will delight the taste buds and fill you up. Perfect with stir-fried veg or on top of greens/ salad, go wild with this punchy dish and enjoy!

What you’ll need

marinated tofu

Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 4 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp mild olive oil
  • a sprinkle of granulated garlic or 2 gloves of finely chopped garlic
  • a sprinkle of red chilli flakes
  • 1 pound tofu

Method:

Mix all the ingredients bar the tofu in a bowl or whisk in a blender. Cover the bowl with foil and refrigerate for an hour or overnight ideally. Pour over the tofu and oven bake at 190°C for 6 minutes.

Serve with veggies or over rice noodles for the perfect plant-based lunch or supper. I rarely ate tofu pre going plant-based bar the odd miso soup but it’s delicious and takes on any flavour you pile on to it so is a wonderful basis for any meal.
