The SPACETALK Smart Phone Watch That Helps Keep Kids Safe

The minute we took the SPACETALK Smart Phone Watch out of its box, my son, Oliver, 9, was enthralled.

Here is a watch come smart phone that’s comfortable to wear, easy to use, super fun to boot (I’ve lost count of how many messages and emojis Oliver has since sent me including, ‘I love you’-aw) and most importantly, safe for my son to use as data is only locally stored in highly secure data centers in the UK so privacy and security are assured, and vitally, helps me to keep him safe.

I’ve discovered since having kids that peace of mind is my number one priority, here (I’ve worried since the day my kids were born). My job is to ensure my kids are healthy, loved and safe from harm. Oliver doesn’t yet go out on his own or walk to school solo but he does like to run and play fairly far off when we visit the many parks near our home in Windsor so this watch is ideal for us.

SPACETALK is an Australian designed and developed smartphone watch for kids to help parents keep in touch with their children. Created by an Adelaide-based technology company MGM Wireless they’ve launched in the UK and we’ll be using it daily.

The SPACETALK watch is a 3G 2 way phone which allows me to create safe zones for him to play/ walk in, alerting me when he leaves them, with an easy to press SOS function he can use if he’s in any danger. It also offers an SMS service so we can keep in touch. There’s local customer support too if there are any issues and you can apply a no distraction school mode for when he wears it in class.

Oliver loved that there was a Step Counter features on it like my own FitBit which has made walking together more fun and it’s inspired him to exercise more. ‘I did 9,677 steps, Mummy’ he proudly exclaimed yesterday after only wearing it for a few hours!

Importantly, it’s so simple to use (without looking basic/child-like so would work for tweens and teens too), that even Alexander, 6, could use it with ease.

To set it up I effortlessly and quickly downloaded the All My Tribe (umbrella brand) app on to my iPhone, charged up the watch and synced them both up (its password protected). Then we were off!
