My eldest son, Oliver, 9, turned to me momentarily this morning, pausing from his scooter fuelled whizzing and said, ‘It really feels like Christmas now we have the tree up’. Bless him!
He’s right though, it really does feel a lot like Christmas now that we have this 7 foot artificial beauty up and decorated. The tree brand is the renowned Puleo and the item was kindly gifted to us Hayes Garden World (who btw, can arrange next day delivery if you order by 1pm). As the oldest family name for Christmas trees in America, this is a high quality faux Christmas tree that will last a lifetime.
After gifting our previous artificial tree to my Mum for use in her restaurant, we were seeking another when a timely email fell into my inbox enquiring if we needed a tree this year. Yes please!
And, doesn’t it look stunning, plus it comes with gold twinkly lights attached saving hassle, time and energy on unravelling Christmas lights!
Peter, my husband, and I easily assembled the tree (it comes in 3 pieces plus the stand which you place on top of one another before connecting the light cables and unfolding the branches out). This tree is called the 7ft Pre-lit Ontario Fir Life Like Artificial Tree with LED lights attached. It’s just been reduced to £298.99 from £426.99 in time for Christmas, too. Fab value when you think it can last from generation to generation.
It looks so lifelike because its neat, round ended branches (no spikes here) are moulded from real tree branches using PVC branches, giving volume and depth to the middle of the tree.
The long life, energy efficient LED lights will also last for years and have replaceable bulbs in case of breakages with spares included. Hayes also supply free spare bulbs for 15 years from purchase.
So twinkly and pretty.
We also made a little video of the kids being all cute and shock-horror kind to each other below (don’t be fooled-they’re not always like this) but they did stop squabbling for 1 whole hour and decorated the tree in peace, picking out mostly silver baubles from our treasured collection which spanned unicorns, hearts, glittery birds, bells, pine cones and diamond shaped baubles we’ve either bought or have been generously gifted over the years.
A happy chappy here. ‘I bet the Queen would like our tree’ Xander exclaimed. When the Queen stays at Windsor Castle, she’s our neighbour and after a recent visit, Alexander speaks of her a lot!
We always like to add something homemade to our tree (it’s become a family tradition) and just look how sweet this sparkly wreath decoration Xander made in After School Club, is. Touchingly, Oliver proudly placed it near the top of tree (I can’t believe how tall he is) as his little bro couldn’t reach. This is what Christmas is all about. 5 minutes of kindness and peace until the arguments start!
Thanks again to Hayes Garden World for their generosity and for making Christmas feel that bit more magical!
Thanks too to one of my closest friends, my Big Sis, Maria for the beautiful personalised Disney pyjamas she gifted the boys last year (they still fit and they are utterly adorable).
