It's time for the latest Wonderful Women interview, which is one of my favourite features on this blog - celebrating all the incredibly inspiring and kick-ass women out there!
The latest interview within my Wonderful Women series is Jenni Smith, a contemporary quilt artist producing unique pictures, prints and stationery, many of them for children. She also runs a successful sewing school in Ilkley in Yorskhire and works with expert tailor Ann Ladbury, author of 40 books on dressmaking.
If there is one thing Patience Brewster is, it is an honest mum.
Motherhood always came first, now and back in the late 70’s early 80’s, what she refers to as the dark ages, at a time when it was not so easy to work at home.
No daycare at first, no computers. But it provided the best of both worlds as she illustrated children’s books with babies on her desk, and as her children got older, painted for galleries and for stationery companies and then designs for a huge international gift company.
This week, as part of my Wonderful Women series I interview Belinda Hall, the founder of the Home of Artisans, an online community marketplace that supports and promotes artisans from around the world, and sells their beautiful hand crafted pieces.
As it's Wool Week, I have a special edition of my Wonderful Women series featuring the two entrepreneurs, Cat and E-J — or Emma — who are two friends who live in the UK but hail from New Zealand.
Julia is one of the UK's favourite TV presenters. She has a keen passion for the outdoors and is known for fronting BBC One’s Countryfile back in 2009 alongside Matt Baker, as well as presenting Wainwright Walks and most recently Wonder of Britain.
What would you do if your child was taken from you in a foreign country and no-one believed you? This is something Angela Dixon had to face in her lead role in the action thriller ‘Never Let Go’ by acclaimed director Howard J Ford.
Gillene Butterfield is an Opera Singer, who works full time for Opera North. She became a Mum in September 2014 and lives in Leeds with her husband Nick, who is also a singer.
Gillene returned to work in March this year after her maternity leave, to take on the lead role of Julie Jordan in the revival of Carousel (13-23rd May) at the Grand Theatre Leeds and on tour.
Heidi Gosman is co founder and Creative Director at heidi klein, the first one-stop beachwear shop in the UK.
Heidi designs all the beachwear, from maxi dresses and kaftans to bikinis and one-pieces with 4 collections each year. Her recent designs include their little girls and boys beachwear collections and accessories.
Rosie Willett is an award winning tiara designer with a First Class Honours degree in Fashion Marketing. Her wedding tiaras and hair accessories are regularly selected for features in national wedding magazines, including Brides magazine, You and Your Wedding, Wedding, Perfect Wedding and Wedding Ideas.
Rosie has designed a number of pieces for television, including tiaras for the Coronation Street weddings of Carla and Molly.
Juliet is a GP, mum to three children and a health writer. She also has her own running club, runs marathons and fundraises for charity.
With a regular column in Women’s Running, a growing online following and plans for a book, Juliet is one inspiring, wonderful woman.
