Argh. This morning, Alexander, 4, screamed and cried, when I dropped him off at nursery. So much so, a nursery teacher had to help me get him out of the car as he refused to budge. I'd open one door and he'd run to the other side.
I'm writing this for parents of children who are starting school for the first time this September because it's as big a milestone for you as it is for your child.
My kids, Oliver (4 nearly 5 and Alexander, 2) have never been the greatest of sleepers (they take after me) but sleep patterns seemed to have gotten worse towards the end of the summer with a serious lack of structure, outbreaks of tonsillitis for my toddler and a period of nightmares (my eldest and I to be honest) pre-school starting! We were all shattered! Fast forward to Oliver starting and settling in at school (he's so happy), a more structured routine and a few dietary changes and the boys are sleeping better than ever. So, I wanted to share what has worked for us.
So this morning we took the cute pictures of my toddler Alexander, just 2, in his nursery uniform, the same nursery that his older brother Oliver attended (and pre-school) and loved dearly- and we all smiled sweetly as my nerves were building...another day, another huge milestone for us all (after Oliver started school only last week)!
Another week, another #brilliantblogposts linky is live. It's a real joy hosting this linky, I'm thoroughly enjoying all your posts each week and reveling the range of themes linked up from food to fashion, debate pieces, lifestyle and beyond.
It's what we'd been gearing up for all summer...trial days at the end of last term were enjoyed (mostly making play dough cookies and playing in the sand pit), teachers had visited us at home (manic hoovering followed by a friendly chat with us both) and then finally, FINALLY Oliver was embarking on the biggest milestone of his little life yesterday-starting school!
