The family got together for a little New Year's Eve shindig at our house this year which was just so relaxed and warm, and well, overflowing with laughter and love. A mush-ball of a sentence I know, but so flipping true.
It's that time again and after another busy week with 102 linked up posts, this will be the last #Brilliantblogposts until 2015! Eek! Fear not though, I'll be back again with renewed vigour on Thursday 8th January so don't miss it!
So this morning we took the cute pictures of my toddler Alexander, just 2, in his nursery uniform, the same nursery that his older brother Oliver attended (and pre-school) and loved dearly- and we all smiled sweetly as my nerves were building...another day, another huge milestone for us all (after Oliver started school only last week)!
I mentioned on Facebook recently how mesmerized my son, Oliver, aged 4 1/2 was by the movie of the moment, the modern ET, Earth to Echo. I've never seen a film, any film effect him as much as this one.
A day out with just Oliver since Alexander's arrival so far have been few and far between. With a little brother in tow and regular pre-school, it's hard to get my now 4 year old to myself.
Last Sunday we spent the day with Rachael, Richard, Holly & Henry for a roast at the Olive Tree, one of my parents' restaurants followed by park time with the kids and a long walk in the Autumn sunshine to work off the large lunch.
Aw, soft focus pictures of our boys together kissing and cuddling, Oliver our firstborn and heir looking lovingly at his younger brother, our darling baby Alexander. Bless. Fast forward a year. Oliver realises his brother is sticking around for more than just the photo opp (and he's loud, confident and wants to play with his toys). Like forevs. The adoration is still there, sure it is. But from Alexander to his older brother. A spends his days gazing at Big Bro brimming with love and admiration.
Mothers Day always holds a special place in my heart, more so now that I'm a mother myself. I have always celebrated it, also sending cards and flowers to my beloved Grandma when she was alive. In the UK, Mothers Day is the 10th of March so I want to dedicate this post to my Mama, the family's rock: an inspiration and hard act to follow.
Here are the loves of my life...who are yours? Happy Valentines Day everyone!
