The Real Easter Egg by traidcraft

We’re a household of choccy-lovers so we’re all egg-tremely (sorry) egg-xcited (and again) about Easter coming up and the chance to indulge in chocolate eggs!

Easter eggs

The perks of being a blogger’s child means getting to review Easter eggs early! Here we sample (oh it’s a hard life) The Real Easter Egg from online store Traidcraft; a brilliant e-shop that sells fair trade products, helping to fight poverty through fairer wages and better working conditions. The only way to enjoy chocolate in my book.

Don’t you just love that shiny purple wrapping foil, it takes me right back to Willy Wonker-esque childhood.

And the chocolate within is dreamy too, that creamy, silky milk chocolate you just can’t stop eating. Plus, the company donates a sizeable chunk of profit to helps support farmers in developing nations, meaning I can feel less guilty about eating a whole egg in one go (oops)!

Seriously though, this money allows farmers to invest in their community, buying everything from school books and solar panels to providing fresh water.

…We had a lot of fun on this shoot, can you tell?! We even made a little film to capture the unwrapping:

Each egg also comes with a colourful ‘Happy Easter’ banner which we’ve hung in the kitchen and the boys loved the beautifully illustrated book on the reverse side.

Over 80m easter eggs are sold in the UK every year, but this the only one that tells the story of Easter.

A case of six eggs from Traidcraft is £23.94, so it’s great for sharing as presents with loved ones or using for an epic easter egg hunt with the kids!

We are huge chocolate fans here at OAK, which means that we’re super-envious of your Easter Egg haul! Your boys are adorable in the video, particularly where they adopt their own techniques at smashing their eggs open. Did they get to eat the entire egg?

We also liked the Easter banner. You could do so many crafty things with them once Easter is over.

Right, we’re off to grab some chocolate now!

Thanks for having us on #BrilliantBlogPosts x

Hehe, glad you liked it, I can’t remember now, think they did end up eating one each! It’s Greek Easter today so there’s been more Easter egg eating!

Such a great idea to give something back like this! The packaging is lovely and I like the idea of them coming with a banner too! Your boys are so cute, I love the look of real concentration x

Wow those eggs look delicious and how lovely that you can be giving something back to others while tucking in to the yumminess! Loved the video by the way – I could see our little man’s expression mirrored in yours – he frowns when he concentrates too xx

I don’t much care for Easter because of the hassle I get from my two youngest girls every shopping trip we make but I can’t help breaking a piece off here and there from one of the kids’s eggs, just for quality control purposes of course!

We love Lindt easter bunnies in our house. I have one for each family member safely stashed! In the meantime, I’ll be looking out for some artisan hot cross buns…
