I love a good girly night and last Saturday saw me celebrating my great friend Rachel’s birthday at the Restaurant Bar and Grill, Leeds-a place I also reviewed for one of my weekly posts for Grazia Live (I promise you it didn’t feel like work, though) we had far too much fun for that!…
Rachel, far right and I met at Sixth Form a fair few years ago (we haven’t changed a bit, honest-hehe!) and Alex is my next door neighbour and new friend (she actually knew Rachel before I’d met her)-Leeds is a small place, people!
Anyway, it was fabulous that we three could go enjoy some prosecco and delicious bistro food in the stunning Restaurant Bar and Grill, sans kids, and really let our hair down!
A dazzling restaurant residing in the landmark old post office building on City Square in Leeds this Parisian style place boasts a modern menu and oh-so glam cocktail bar we enjoyed propping up, pre-starters!
With some of the best service we’d collectively ever experienced, the staff helped us to (finally) decide on thai spiced fishcakes, chargrilled asparagus and poached egg and severn and wye smoked salmon on sourdough to start, followed by saintly superfood salmon salad and yes another healthy option, prawn and avocado salad that was perfect fare on what was the hottest day/evening of the year so far.
Fear not though, these were but a guise for what was to come next: dreamy dark chocolate fondant, strawberries and jersey cream and vanilla creme brulee with lemon shortbread. Oh yes!
We then toasted our perfect night with Lemon Cheesecake, Chocolate Sazerac (rum and chocolate liquor) and Expresso Martini dessert cocktails. Oh and I nearly forget the apple martinis barman Alex rustled up for us too!
Thanks Alex, you rock (literally)!
Restaurant Bar and Grill is one magnificent joint. Leeds?! For a moment there we thought we were in New York.
