We’re collectively the happiest we’ve ever been, in Harrogate. The house renovations are on-going but we’re elighted with our light-filled spacious home up north, close to my Mum.
Our forever home is bright with its vast windows and a garden which winds around the property and truly beautiful, at least it will be once everything is order, all of the boxes are finally unpacked and the work is complete…You get the picture. We’re glad and feel lucky to live in such a wonderful house with so much potential so are feeling grateful despite my preference for order forcing me to despair some days!
If you’re not familiar with the town we’ve moved to, Harrogate boasts sprawling countryside and plenty of parks to keep my kids happy, and we often find ourselves walking to Valley Gardens, a famous park in the centre, whatever the weather, thanks to their huge playground Florence finds so fun and the fact there is so much to do there.
When our garden is complete (yes that needs work too but we have an orchard with apple, pear and plum trees we’ve enjoyed the fruit from since moving in), we like to roam around the parks near and far from our new home. Valley Garden is but a walk away.
The Valley Gardens Harrogate are English Heritage Grade II Listed gardens no less, situated in regal Low Harrogate, which along with their woodland, are known as The Pinewoods covering a whopping 17 acres.
They’re open all year round and 24 hours a day and even host band concerts on Sundays in the summer. They also have tennis courts, putt golf courses, crazy golf, a boating pool, paddling pool and cafes on-site.
The park couldn’t be more enchanting than during the autumn in my opinion, with trees turning russet, streams of amber sunlight dancing through the leaves still holding on or fallen, and the last of the summer flowers, a patch of show-stopping dahlias the size of your head, being the main attraction, still bobbing around happily in the breeze.
Florence here wears some beautiful pieces I bought on Vinted recently (how I love a bargain) spanning a Burberry coat, Polo Ralph Lauren polo dress and Hunter wellies. The photos of Florence showing you the peace sign she learnt almost a year ago now (she’s a quick learner) make me chuckle!
Super cool on a warm (ish) autumnal day!
Have you visited Harrogate? There’s lots to do here so do consider it.
