Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea at Mama Doreen’s Emporium

Moving to Harrogate this autumn has led us to working our way around our new home town, discovering local gems, with Mama Doreen’s Emporium proving to be a flawless, sparkling diamond within its centre.

A spectacular tea shop offering unique and delicious afternoon teas spanning sing-a-longs, Santa’s brunches and cupcake decorating parties amongst other seasonal savoury and sweet offerings, Mama Doreen’s is the perfect whimsical spot for special occasions and in our case, to celebrate the advent of the holidays.

With veggie and meat options and the choice to pre-book a vegan version of the Winter Wonderland afternoon tea, the children plumped for the meat options, my husband Peter had a pescetarian option and I plumped for vegan cupcakes.

Florence was kindly given a golden balloon and coluring-in, to welcome her to this magically festive haven!

Listing the older children’s afternoon tea menu below, you can see quite how carefully created and curated it is, making for a memorable, afternoon tea which left us feeling utterly festive and immersed in the spirit of Christmas.

Being 14 and 12, my sons Oliver and Alexander opted for adult portions but were so full, they ended up taking ample leftovers home!

The afternoon tea is beautifully presented with ribbons and sparkling silverware.

My three year old, Florence, enjoyed a more simplified but equally delicious and enchanting afternoon tea she gobbled up with glee. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect now that she can eat dairy again after being intolerant for so long.

With glorious Christmas decorations and dreamy Instagrammable-worthy interiors, we gasped with delight at the sparkling gingerbread house, towering cupcakes, Christmas trees and velvet ribbons which embellished the mirrors, staircase and cake trays. Mama Doreen’s is a place where Disneyland meets Charlie and the Chocolate Factory providing its guests with a nostalgic trip down memory lane where adults can reconnect with their cake-loving inner child and little ones can experience some festive magic!
