As a woman obsessed with fashion, my motto when buying shoes has mostly (stupidly) been to choose style over comfort.
I have kind of perfected the whole running in heels though. It’s a skill which requires years of dedication and practice. See VB for inspiration!
But when it comes to the boys’ footwear, it is of course exactly the opposite. Comfort is the number one priority and ideally I can combine both finding dapper shoes that feel great.
Rather bizarrely though, finding truly comfortable shoes for children isn’t as easy as you would think though, and there are a lot of styles on the market that can be restrictive on tots’ feet, especially during those early development years – the stage my youngest, Alexander 2 1/2 is currently at.
So I was really excited when I was asked by the New Zealand childrens’ footwear brand, Bobux, to review their shoes and their new X-range.
They have are also very kindly offering TWO Honest Mum readers the chance to each win a pair of Bobux shoes of their choice – more on this later!
The unique design of the X-range shoes mimic the freedom of going barefoot, meaning not only are they are ultra comfortable, but they also support the natural development of your child’s feet.
Plus, as they’re designed by Sean Maisano, who has created for the likes of Adidas and Prada, and are seriously stylish to boot. I genuinely believe that these are some of the finest shoes my boys have ever worn…
And it isn’t just myself whose a fan! Actress Emily Blunt and celebrity author Giovanna Fletcher’s kids have both been spotted wearing Bobux’s X-range shoes so they’re lusted after by the A-listers too!
Now onto the shoes.
Oliver, aged 5, was gifted a pair of these super edgy Bobux Hiwire shoes in Cobalt (£45).
Part of their i-walk range for confident walkers, they’re perfect for hip young things and ooze street cred.
Oliver wears with clothes c/o Mamas & Papas.
They’re the perfect shoe for outdoor activities and running around in the park as the lightweight material allows the shoes to flex naturally with the movement of the foot.
Oliver couldn’t believe how comfy they were!
Oliver was also gifted these uber cool Dockside Dress Shoe in navy (£42). Dapper boat shoes are BIG news in men’s fashion right now making these are ideal for mini-fashionistas everywhere.
Their shoes are 100% leather and have a flexible rubber gum sole making them both robust and flexible and the classic design means they’re great for more formal occasions too. Here’s Oliver wearing them for our Greek Easter celebrations.
I love how chic they look with the plaid shirt and peach chinos I picked up in a boutique on holiday in Marbella.
Backpack c/o Enchanted Forest and Friends-
Alexander was gifted these fabulous Tetra pair from the X-range i-walk range in aqua (£42)
I love the summery turquoise!
The velcro fastening is perfect for toddlers who don’t have patience too!
Aw, cute alert warning! Seriously adorable picture coming up of Xander looking like a mini-Maverick from Top Gun rocking his shoes with leather aviator jacket.
And there’s more, Xander was also gifted these gorgeous Polar Cap Trainers in red (£42). We love them!
They come with an innovative splashtex™ leather toecap which offers protection from dirt & water. Perfect for little adventurers like my two!
Now for the fantastic competition.
