We’re pretty obsessed with smoothies in this household.
I like to make up a big batch for the whole family at breakfast – it’s the best start to the day, packed full of vitamins, nutrients, minerals and fibre. I even shared my favourite smoothies on ITV’s Good Morning Britain recently as a top snack for little ones when they start back at school.
You can watch it below:
They really are a fantastic way to ensure you and your whole family get your 5 a day.
As avid smoothie makers and general foodies, we needed a pro-blender so I was over the moon when the premium brand, Froothie, got in touch, asking us to review their best selling blender and share one of my all time favourite smoothie recipes.
We were sent their brand new Optimum 9200 model – one of the quickest and most powerful blenders on the market.
These blenders are perfect for budding Nigellas like myself 😉 and the possibilities of what you can do with them are literally endless…
Making smoothies is simply scratching the surface of the blender’s potential. It can also be used to make coconut butter, crushing ice, almond and coconut milk, soups, juices, sauces and ice cream…it really is the perfect Sous Chef!
Another massive bonus of the Froothie Optimum 9400 is that it is incredibly easy to use and clean.
Hands up who’s bought a kitchen gadget, used it once and then banished it to a cupboard to gather dust as it was such a palava to clean *puts hand up*.
Well fear not, as the Froothie is a dream to clean, making it perfect for everyday use, easy to use, pour, press the timer button and slow, medium or fast setting and go.
I use it every day and talk about it so often my husband has named me a ‘blender geek’. It’s that good!
You’ll be pleased to hear that Froothie are kindly offering one lucky Honest Mum reader the chance to win a their very own Optimum 9200 smoothie maker just like mine, worth £379. WOW!

Well, I suggest the first recipe you try is my super tasty summer berry and peach recipe!
I like to use Saturn peaches (named so because of their flatter, planet like shape) which are sweeter and more fragrant than regular peaches and here I mix frozen and fresh fruit together. I love keeping frozen fruit in the freezer, they’re picked when ripe, are cost effective as they last for longer in the freezer, plus they make your smoothie naturally cold!
Recipe:
Ingredients – for 3 smoothies
- 2 Saturn peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup of strawberries, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups of frozen summer berries.
- 3/4 cup of Greek yoghurt
- 150ml of milk
- 2 teaspoons of honey (optional, we like manuka)
Method
Prepare all your ingredients, slicing the fruit and removing the stalk from the strawberries. Don’t worry about peeling the peaches, Froothie’s The Optimum 9400 domestic blender is powerful enough to blend the healthy, fibrous skin.
Peter and I got shaking and making together which was fun!
Add the fruit to the blender with the yoghurt, milk and honey.
Blend for 35 seconds and then pour:
Check out our blending and pouring gifs-here Peter shows you how!
And he pours. Yum!
What recipes would you make in your Froothie maker?
