Our family has always struggled with sensitive skin and boy is it frustrating and uncomfortable!
Both myself and my eldest son Oliver have especially sensitive skin with some areas of eczema (elbows in particularly). We also frequently suffer from urticaria too – a hive-like condition – that can frankly be brought on by anything and seems to have some correlation to hay fever.
What can I say…we’re a bunch of sensitive souls!
While I can just about handle dealing with uncomfortable, itchy skin myself, watching my son in discomfort is heartbreaking, which is why I am always looking for products that can moisturise and soothe dry and sensitive skin.
I avoid chemically-laden creams like the plague, instead seeking out creams that contain natural ingredients and which are specially formulated for sensitive skin.
This is where AVEENO® Cream comes in…
Clinically proven to hydrate and soothe dry, sensitive skin, we noticed incredible improvements to our skin from the first day of using it.
I even popped the products in my bag on a recent day out in the countryside.
Using AVEENO® Cream has helped to soothe irritated skin and worked to help prevent flare-ups too.
Its key ingredient is the naturally active colloidal oatmeal (for more information on its benefits click here) which helps restore the skin's natural barrier. So gentle, it can be used from just 3 months old and is suitable for even the most delicate and sensitive skin.
The product itself is non-greasy and quickly absorbed, making it perfect for active kids like mine who won’t sit still! Simply apply the cream and then they can be off playing within a minute.
We use the cream alongside the AVEENO® Bath & Shower Oil which is also formulated with naturally active colloidal oatmeal and softening oil.
I find a lot of shower gels can be pretty aggressive on my skin and had led me to use baby bath products until now, so it’s wonderful to find a shower gel for adults that actually agrees with my skin.
Pretty amazing huh?

If like our family, you and/or your kids suffer from dry, eczema-prone skin, you can follow these simple tips to help:
1. Try adding an emollient bath product specifically designed for sensitive skin to help
protect your skin barrier.
2. You can use a moisturiser, emollient cream or lotion after the bath. This “soak-and-seal” approach is particularly recommended for dry skin.
3. Applying an emollient cream all over your body twice a day helps keep dry skin under control.
