After a month of illness in this family, we finally all felt better and were in much need of a retreat, a break from the norm, not far from home to simply rest, relax and feel rejuvenated once more.
The universe must have been listening, as the wonderful Gorgeous Cottages got in touch to see if we wanted to break in a luxury holiday home, The Coach House in Yorkshire.
The fabulous folks at Opera North kindly invited me to review their new show, a double bill of the operas La Vida Breve and Gianni Schicchi but unfortunately, my kids still weren't 100% after all the bugs we've been enduring, so I had to trade tenors for Calpol and my parents headed to the opera instead of me (the perks of being the parents of a blogger huh!)
PinterestLondon is always a whirlwind for me, and last Wednesday was no exception.
Taking my Mum along for a rare night away and quite the party (more of that soon), I had some exciting meetings by day (as always, I'll reveal more when I can)- as we made our way through chic coffee shops in Farringdon to the place I call home in the city, Charlotte Street Hotel, a bustling yet relaxing hub where meetings can turn to dinner easily, and being so close to Soho and the production company I have a TV series in development with, makes it the ideal place for my blogging and TV career to meet.
Saturday evening saw me take out my favourite lady, my Mum, for a night at the opera-Opera North's 'The Marriage of Figaro' to be precise for a spot of culture in a spotty dress!
Last weekend saw us pack up our bags and wrap up warm for two nights at Cowslip Cottage in the quaint village of Sleights, one of many luxury cottages within the Gorgeous Cottages portfolio.
Oliver is one lucky 4 year old boy who thanks to this blog, receives some brilliantly entertaining and educational toys to review. He gets more excited than I do when the postman knocks!
It might not surprise you that this family of foodies likes to indulge in life and there's no better time for a little luxury than Christmas is there?!
Last weekend saw us head to the stunning Ox Pasture Hall Hotel for a weekend break. You can read our review HERE-warming you will want to either get a train or move to Yorkshire as soon as you do and you'll feel very hungry!
We're often kindly offered breaks away thanks to this blog here but they're usually a little far for us to head to for a weekend now that Oliver has started school...However, thanks to the lovely The Boy and Me who recommended us to review the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, we found ourselves not too far from home, in the picturesque seaside town of Scarborough for a gloriously sunny weekend of fresh country air, fine food and family fun!
I am a seriously lucky lady as recently Luxe-Layers gifted me this beautiful designer dress by Brazilian designer Lucidez which I review in full over on my style blog Mummy's Got Style: HERE.
Little Oliver (just 4) takes after my brother, his (not so little) Uncle Solos (31) who I'm currently calling Naughty Uncle Solos as he usually arrives to see the kids with bags of sweets on the naughty list (which aren't on the list to be fair), toy guns (definitely on the naughty list) and ice pops-mostly in the winter. Le sigh.
The other day, I received an exciting email from online sunglasses boutique Pret a voir asking if I might like some Chanel sunglasses to model and review. Obviously this took a lot of careful thought and consideration as you can imagine....So about half a millisecond later, I gracefully accepted while dancing round the living room!
