Let me kick off by stating that I'm so freakin' lucky to have two handfuls of besties in my life. I really am fortunate to have the most inspiring, lovable mates in my life.
So today I popped over to one of my all-time favourite blogs, The Joy Chaser, written by my good pal Michelle, who never fails to inspire and spread joy through her words-and this post of her's HERE stopped me in my tracks and reminded me of the importance of fighting our fears.
I know I'm incredibly lucky in so many ways: I have a strong, supportive, wise and loving husband; the smartest, fun and most encouraging folks you could ever wish for, and a big group of fiercely bright and brilliant female friends (and one male bestie too of course-Will, you rock).
Recently, I've noticed a fair few people remark on how confident I am, or at least appear to be (it was mentioned several times at Blog Camp where I spoke recently, with many asking me how they could become more confident when it comes to going on camera or making their blog their business and I receive a lot of emails on the subject too.
I've always been a bit of a girl's girl-I'm still friends with many of my oldest girlfriends from school, sixth form and university then from working in the film industry; I love how empowering good female friends can be! I'd be lost without them!
It's funny how things can work out just when you need them to...I was feeling a bit down in the dumps that I'd not seen some of my closest London buddies for what feels like forever when I received a text from my male best friend Will that he'd be in town for an anesthetist conference pretty much round the corner from where I live in Yorkshire-yay!
