We're a family of bookworms here in the Broadbent household, my Mum was a university lecturer and pretty much everyone on my Dad's side were teachers and headteachers, so the love of the written word is clearly in my DNA.
When founder of Mellow Duck, Helen Cook contacted me about a new venture she was setting up-upholstered pods perfect for families like mine, and in my hometown of Ilkley too (I grew up in this tiny town before moving to Leeds), I couldn't wait to add one to my own home and spread the word on her beautiful new business.
There's nothing lovelier in my book, than spending the weekend with happy-making friends and family. The weekends are our time to simply recharge our batteries and relax. We mostly spend them outdoors enjoying gorgeous Yorkshire, eating copious amounts of great food (luckily we have 4 restaurants in the family nearby) and resting from the busy week before, with the best of company. Last Sunday saw us do just that when we met up with our great friends Rachel, Richard and their sweet family in Leeds.
My talented friend, artist and blogger Emma Kaufmann of Emma's Pet Portraits got in touch recently offering to add some much-needed bursts of colour to our living room and new home.
I'm really excited to share the beautiful Red.Blue.You's personalised canvas company with you all and offer one lucky Honest Mum reader a canvas of their own worth £99 (size A0).
As a huge fan of Christy, the towel makers to Wimbledon Tennis, I'm honoured to share a competition with you where you can win over £350 worth of luxuriously chic towels, candles, bedding and home fragrances.
I'm honoured to announce a collaborative competition with stunningly stylish Christy (established 1850) where one lucky reader will win over £350 worth of luxe bedding, towels, robes and candles from their new home fragrance collection.
Moving house and designing our new home has meant many a trip to Habitat, Homebase, Laura Ashley, Cath Kidston and of course lots of antique furniture stores and raids of my mother's family heirlooms (thanks Mum).
STOP PRESS as much-loved online marketplace eBay have revamped their UK site to include a new and quite frankly, fabulous 'Collections' feature, reminiscent of Pinterest but with much more purpose...
