We moved into a new place in Windsor in the summer: a spacious apartment right in the town centre which is a stunningly modern and minimal place that calms from the minute you enter. Being by the castle makes for beautiful views too and we love being in the heart of town here.
We’re excited to have partnered with Wayfair on the decor of our new place who have kindly helped us transform the previously empty space with their chic and well-made pieces: two large sofa beds, a coffee table and the children’s beds too.
Wayfair.co.uk is one of the world’s largest online retailers of home furnishings and décor and their broad range means there is honestly something for everyone.

Our house in Yorkshire is tenanted (with all of our previous furniture in there) so when we first moved to Windsor over 15 months ago, we opted for a furnished property to make life easier. When we moved into the apartment you see here, this summer, our final rental before we buy, we were relieved it was unfurnished, allowing us to make it our own and select furniture that will come with us when we buy.
Beautiful, versatile and modern, the pieces you see here, would suit any style of house.
Truth be told, we’ve been very laid-back *read lazy (!) about selling our house in Yorkshire and buying here after I got myself thoroughly stressed out searching for the perfect home when we initially moved over 200 miles away. Opting for an interim property in this, that is central, close to the train station and the sprawling Long Walk and shops made sense to us all and took the pressure off. It’s also a 10 minute drive to the boys’ school and my close mum friends also live close by, too. It really is ideal and I’m in no rush to move.
Here, I’m sharing some of our home. I hope to get around to the rest at some point but below you have the lounge and the kids’ bedroom that my boys share.
We love it here and all the gifted Wayfair pieces. The place looks and feels like a hotel apartment and we feel very lucky to have found the place and been able to work with Wayfair to create our dream home.
….When we went on search of a new place in the summer, we asked the kids if they wanted a house or an apartment and whether they’d hoped to continue sharing a room as they had before, or wanted their own rooms this time.
They both adored the apartment on first view and were adamant they wanted to share a bedroom and stay together. It’s made them bond far greater than when they had their own bedrooms back in Yorkshire and reminded me of when I shared a room with my brother as a child despite being able to have our own rooms.
Listening to Oliver read to his brother at night and hearing their little conversations from our bedroom next door, before lights out are some of my most treasured moments.
Alexander too, rarely complains of feeling scared at night now Oliver sleeps close by and they spend a lot of time in their bedrooms, playing, studying or watching TV.
Their beds have tons of storage underneath for toys and arrived quickly as Wayfair offers a fast delivery service and provides excellent customer service. Ordering online was super easy too.
The vast 3 seater sofa bed are the comfiest we’ve ever owned and Peter has to constantly remind me not to fall asleep on them most nights (I never listen). Why is sleep so sweet on a sofa?!
I could *actually sleep on these sofas as they’re also sofa beds and Mum loves her’s when she comes to stay.

The matching armchair is Oliver’s favourite and he can often be found tucking into a David Walliam’s book on it.

I love the understated stripes, lovingly referring to them as, ‘my Breton sofas’ which match all the Breton stripes in this family’s wardrobe, and they make the lounge inviting.
The coffee table has a striking crisscross pattern panelling and it is easy to clean too. It also houses homework, magazines and more, beneath.
…Wayfair has a vast array of items on their site for all your home and decor needs from low to high budgets so you can find what works for you.
Thank you Wayfair, we love our home!
