After a magical holiday at Beaches Resort, Ocho Rios, Jamaica last year, and an initiation into the wonder that is Sesame Street for my own children (my husband and I were long time fans),  I wanted to incorporate these famous characters into my son Oliver’s 6th birthday party last week.

Sesame Street on stage

Andrea of ‘Cakes by Andrea’ made these beauties below for my boy-Andrea is so in demand she doesn’t have or need a website but she’s based in Leeds and you can leave a comment with your email where I can pass her details on, if you would like to hire her too.

She’s a genius dab hand when it comes to baking- from beautiful birthday and wedding cakes, to specialist novelty cakes and delicious cupcakes like these- no brief is too tough or detailed for Andrea.

These are gluten-free to boot.

Even the biscuits in the Cookie Monster’s mouth are wheat and gluten-free. Imagine re-naming him the ‘Gluten-free Cookie Monster’! Ha!

Cookie Monster cupcake-perfect family treat

Stunningly handmade, vibrant and the image of the Sesame Street gang, my kids literally squealed with delight at these dazzling cupcakes which are almost too pretty to eat. Almost!

Thanks Andrea, you complete cake rock star!

Next time I order, I’ll ask her to make them vegan because since this post was published, I’ve become plant-based.

They look too good to eat. My girls have also been obsessed with Sesame Street since we went away with Beaches- my youngest has a cuddly Elmo which is apparently her ‘second favourite’ after her cuddly sheep. It was such an amazing experience for them wasn’t it? X

Fab cupcakes aren’t they. We grew up with Sesame Street so it’s lovely to introduce them via Beaches. We watched lots of episodes before we went too. It’s reminded me to watch more with them now too. Such an awesome holiday for us all 🙂

These are amazing. Andrea will be wrong area of the country for me, but I’m now wondering if I could get someone to something similar on Angry Birds theme. Beyond my skill level #TastyTueasdays
