Papa G’s a football mad Gunners supporter and in time for Father’s Day (held this year on June 17) he was kindly sent a handcrafted, beautiful architectural model of his beloved Arsenal Stadium (£99) from Chisel & Mouse . Just look at his face: think he’s even happier than the day I was born. Nearly.
Arsenal Stadium was built in 1913 and in the 1930’s the site was redeveloped with the outstanding Art Deco East and West stands produced. Architects Claude Waterlow Ferrier and William Binnie were responsible for the splendid design above.
Arsenal FC have recently moved to their new Emirates stadium and the old Arsenal Stadium has been redeveloped as residential flats with parts of the East and West Stands retained. If Papa G could he’d love to buy one of them…
Each of Chisel & Mouse’s architectural models is handmade in their studio in Sussex, England and are made of strong plaster that has a reassuring weight and smooth, cool feel. The window frames and door are made of etched brass.
They don’t just make football stadiums either, check out the website, there’s lots of beautiful landmarks from Buckingham Palace to the Empire State building. Truly stylish ornaments, gifts or presents that are handmade in Britain-perfect for Father’s Day, perfect for Papa G’s everywhere.
We were sent the model above to keep in return for this honest review.
