Marrakech has always had a major influence on style and fashion.
From the colour palettes to the textures and silhouettes, the culture and design of this Arabian city features regularly on the fashion week catwalks and was a major influence in the work of the late Yves Saint Laurent.
Marrakech itself is any fashionista’s shopping dream! The city is home the world’s most famous Labyrinth of souks, where you can haggle on the finest leather goods, beautiful slippers and the most wonderful jewels, plus so much more.
‘Marrakech Style’ is one 2016 hottest trends and in celebration of this city and its culture, the luxe kids online retailer, Melijoe, has curated a stunning collection of designer pieces that channel Moroccan influences.
The trend is most evident in this season’s Chloe collection. The brand’s founder, Gaby Agian, hails from North Africa and the Chloe kids range is awash with bohemian styles, romantic fabrics and earthy tones.
Other key trends in this season’s collection is the use of bird prints, kohl-esque illustrations and the symbol of luck known as the ‘Eye of the Talisman’.
So head to Melijoe’s very own bustling Bazaar, where you can discover these Arabian-inspired gems.
I’ve picked out a few of my personal faves below.
Arty Multicoloured Shorts by Il Gufo, £44
These abstract cotton shorts perfectly capture the vibrancy of the Marrakech souks.
Printed Voile Skirt By Le Temps De Cerises, £38
I j’adore this kohl-esque bohemian print by French brand, Le Temps De Cerises. The perfect summer skirt for kids.
Mini-me Crepe Dress by Chloe, £102
The perfect dress for Dessert Roses. The light and flowing cut will keep your kid cool even on the sunniest of days.
Round sunglasses by Sonia Rykiel, £70
Protect your bambino’s peepers in this super cool sunnies. I love the sunset inspired shade – stunning!
Multi icon t-shirt by Kenzo Kids, £39
The Eye of the Talisman or All Seeing Eye as it also referred as, heavily features in the Kenzo Kids range this season. In particular, I love this t-shirt which also features Kenzo’s very own iconic ‘roaring tiger’.
Swallow Print Dress by Stella McCartney, £77
The swallows is one of the fashion’s favourite prints and I love Stella’s take on this iconic bird. Made from Organic Cotton.
T-shirt with a print by Dolce and Gabbana, £92
Quite possibly the most hipster kids t-shirt I have seen from the dynamic Italian duo, Dolce and Gabbana.
