Advertorial.
I discovered bespoke British handbag and accessory label Luella Grey on Insta a few ago and fell head over handbags in love at first sight. Ethical and with a commitment to elegance at an affordable price, this homegrown statement brand has captured my heart and transformed my wardrobe.
Luella Grey only use the most premium of materials to make their contemporary timeless bags, like the vegan beauty above and below, the Esme Rose I’ve been wearing every day since it arrived.
I love the metal detailing of Luella Grey’s pieces, the statement clasps inspired by hand crafted jewellery, beautifully unique, with each piece designed designed in their South London studio and exclusive to their brand.
Unlike fast fashion brands, design duo Rachel and Sarah, create their collections in small batches with the aim of selling out. This practice serves to reduce waste and ensures each piece is made thoughtfully, with time and care.
With this in mind, Luella Grey only creates an exclusive 20-50 pieces of each style per season, meaning each bag you purchase is a limited edition and one to treasure for your collection. I adore my cross body bag, ideal for busy mums who don’t want to compromise on style or quality.
Producing products ethically, is Luella Grey’s priority with PU (polyurethane) being the main material used – a less harmful variant of PVC (polyvinylchloride), and plastic packaging is limited to keep their carbon footprint low.
This is how my stunning bag arrived.
Swoon.
Featuring the brand’s signature molten fastener, the Esme Rose is one hell of a chic, versatile bag that works whatever style you’re rocking. Beautifully feminine and in my favourite hue of blush pink, I carry this suede-look arm candy whether I’m in pale blue jeans and a vegan biker jacket or a floral maxi and embellished headband.
I might not be going out these days in lockdown, bar my daily walk round Windsor but I’ve found dressing up and painting my face perks me up no end. Nigella got it right when she said that make up is her armour. Beauty and style can really turn my day around.
I love that I can wear this bag across my body or over my shoulder thanks to its adjustable strap, but usually opt for the former so I’m handsfree for my kids and all their sticky lolly sticks.
Two tone and beautifully crafted out and in, within the bag, are three separate compartments to house your essentials. In my case, these include wafers wrapped in foil, my phone, wallet, and a crumpled letter I’ve been meaning to post to my mum for ages (sorry Mum if you’re reading this)!
Isn’t she the prettiest bag you ever did see?
I’ve included her vital stats below and if you want to buy her, or any an item from the site, Luella Grey are kindly offering 25% off purchases this month (May 2020) with the code HONESTMUM25.
