Halloween Family Fun

Yesterday we headed to Famer Copleys in Pontefract, just outside Leeds for some seasonal family fun at their annual Pumpkin Festival!

A grand farm enveloped by expansive fields that feel like you’re on a film set, the atmosphere feels magical, but not in a fabricated fake way-it feels authentic, you’re on a farm that happens to be bursting with Halloween-inspired entertainment!

I now understand Americans’ obsession with Halloween!

So much effort has been taken on Copleys’ part: sensational Halloween decorations (natural ones too with those pretty orange physalis below), assistants dressed as witches and pumpkins, every Halloween-inspired delicacy you can think of on offer to eat from pumkin soup to toffee apples, parkin and more, traditional sweet shops on site, a florists, tractors you can play and pose on and most of all, activities to keep the kids and you entertained all day!

I simply can’t recommend visiting Copleys enough!

…The highlight of my day was us running around choosing pumpkins to carve (which we actually spent an hour doing) and was joyous…

We also played on duck games, ate food in the cafe and went wild in the deli picking up pumpkin delicacies, organic meat and local cheese!

Oliver loved having his face painted as batman (his latest obsession) and proudly displayed his sparkly batman tattoo to everyone else we met there! It’s a friendly place with kids mixing and playing together, a special atmosphere that makes you want to go back again. I’d return again today if I could!

Free in, you pay for your pumpkins, food and some of the games but it’s inexpensive and great value for what was a perfect family day out.
