Blogging is not just my (4th) love and job, but it's also a great way to experience events, products and experiences I can share with my family. Last weekend, we were the new C4 Picasso's guests at the Harry Potter Tour in Watford, allowing me the opportunity to test drive the new Picasso before having a day absorbing all things HP!
We're now back from two blissful weeks in the Algarve, Portugal, relieved to have brought the sunshine home with us, helping to ease away our holiday blues.
Tomorrow morning we'll be flying off to Portugal for two whole weeks in the sun and I can't wait. It will be 14 days of pure uninterrupted family time which means no work, social media or blogging for me so I can take a proper break.
We are all super excited (particularly Oliver who has his Trunki full of his favourite things already packed) for our upcoming summer holiday at the end of June to Portugal. Not able to fly when pregnant after an acute water infection at 18 weeks last year, due to needing regular tests and being someone uncomfortable flying when pregnant anyway, we holidayed in beautiful Wales rather than going abroad. We're going away for another long weekend by the Yorkshire coast in the half term then will spend two weeks in the Algarve.
A few weeks ago, we spent a truly delightful day out at Hesketh Farm Park near Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire. We stroked and fed the farm animals, Oliver raced around on an indoor tractor, Mummy and child played on the swings (my favourite bit) and we had hours of fun in the outdoor sandpit.
My darling husband Peter surprised me with a long weekend for all the family to Robin Hood's Bay near Whitby in Yorkshire from Friday until Monday and it was just the relaxing tonic we craved.
No internet connection or phone signal nor desire to use them: check.
Breathtaking views from your rented 300 year old cottage overlooking Llangollen's riverside, castle remains and rolling hills: check. Argh Wales, I think I love you.
The family and I visited the wondrous Brimham Rocks in Ripon, Yorkshire the other week. The sun was shining and we felt like we'd gone back in time (or were on the set of a Flinstones live action movie at the very least) as the rocks were formed 380 million years ago.
We lived in London for many years before relocating to Leeds a year ago and like to head back and see our friends on family breaks when we can. I still often work in the Big Smoke but this break was purely for family time and fun and the little man loved every minute.
