Back to School Shoes with Clarks

Clarks is a brand that has endured through the generations.

I distinctly remember choosing T-bar princess style shoes from Clarks in Ilkley, Yorkshire, aged 4, on a visit there with my Mum before starting school. My love of shopping started on that very day.

A core memory.

The pride I felt in wearing those glossy black shoes to school had been unmatched up to that point. It was the peak of excitement for me!

To now have a daughter of my own, Florence, and at a similar age to me then (she turns 3 in November) squeeling at her new pair of patent shoes, ready for nursery next week, feels like a full circle moment.

Seeing how big my middle child Alexander’s school shoes look in comparison to my toddler’s did make me chuckle. Having recently started high school and in a new town too, these were a lovely gift from Clarks to mark the milestone.

The velcro straps mean Alexander can get in and out of his shoes quickly and with ease on a morning and when he changes into football boots after school several times a week (as he’s currently training for not just the local team but also twice a week with the Leeds United Breakthrough team after being scouted).

At a UK size 7, his feet are as big as mine and he will no doubt follow my eldest son Oliver, and be far taller than me too! Florence is almost half my size at 2!
