Are Live Cooking Streams Better Than Recipe Books?

Remember the days when there was a pile of recipe books in the kitchen, slightly battered around the edges but undeniably useful? This sight isn’t seen as much in the modern kitchen, with people often relying on phones and printouts instead of thick books.

The latest upgrade to cooking has been the introduction of live streams, where it’s possible for you to cook along with the expert in real time. With a skilled chef there demonstrating, it could be argued that this new system will render recipe books obsolete.

Cooking Has Now Received the Live Stream Treatment

Live streaming has taken the world by storm in recent years, with the advanced technology bringing people closer to the action than ever before. The online casino industry was one of the earliest adopters, and online live casino UK games like Mega Fire Blaze Roulette Live and Deal or No Deal: The Big Draw are now hugely popular in the country.

Almost every other online industry has integrated live streaming as well, as it offers viewers a sense of being there with the streamers. There’s usually a chat function, meaning that there’s interaction between those watching and the people broadcasting.

Live shopping has also been a hit, with Amazon integrating the technology to allow customers to ask about products in real time. Cooking is perfect for the live streaming treatment, as it allows viewers to see how things should be made and to ask the streamer for help if they need it.

Having Someone Demonstrate in Real Time Can Be Helpful

One of the main weaknesses of traditional recipe books is the fact that they don’t show people what to do. They can only describe how things are supposed to be done, and if you have no prior cooking experience, some processes can be tricky. On top of that, instructions can be interpreted in different ways by different people. Who decides how thick a sauce should be or whether onions are soft enough?

When a real chef demonstrates these things live, though, it takes away a lot of the guesswork. You can work at the same pace as the expert and check that your results look the same as theirs. There’s less chance of missing an ingredient or a part of the cooking procedure, as you’re simply copying someone.

Who Are the Best Cooking Streamers to Watch?

For anyone wanting to take their cooking to the next level, various chefs offer popular live streams. One of the best options is Chefstreams, which brings professional chefs virtually into your kitchen. You can cook multi-course meals in real time alongside these experts.

There’s also Gordon Ramsay’s Academy, which is excellent if you’re looking for more formal guidance. The online classes cover everything from practical techniques to full dishes.

There may still be some situations in which recipe books are useful, but they’re no longer such an essential part of the kitchen. If you want to make tastier dishes and improve your technical ability in the kitchen, you may want to check out some live cooking streams.
