Vlogging From The MOBO Awards In Leeds

Life as a v/blogger is never dull! Fact!

Last night, First Direct Arena partner CitiPark invited me and the girls to the MOBO Awards in Leeds and what an incredible night it was.

I was just saying to my friend Rachel (far right) only the other night when we were filming something for the telly (told you life is never dull here) that we needed a girly night and two days later, here we were glammed up and ready to party! Yay!

This is the first time that the MOBOs have been hosted in Leeds and it was awesome to see such a prestigious event taking place in my hometown.

The atmosphere throughout the city was electrifying in the run up to the event and within the arena…just WOW! What a buzz!

A quick snap with the my MOBO SQAUD before heading in.

Here I’m wearing a striking emerald green Cortefiel dress with gold zip that I bought in Portugal a few years ago and haven’t worn since my holiday! The sparkling earrings are c/o Yosa and made me feel dazzling, darling!

The star studded event saw the A-listers descend on Leeds for the night with Rita Ora ging the most kick ass performance of the night – she reminded me so much of Beyoncé when she channels her Sasha Fierce alter-ego.

Fearless, confident and super sexy.

That girl knows how to work a ponytail too!

Indie-starlette FKA Twigs was completely mesmerising on stage too. She attended the awards with her fiancé Robert Pattinson who received what was probably the biggest cheer of the night when the camera cut to him during her acceptance speech for Best Video!

Girl crush alert!

Hands down, the best acceptance speech came from Sir Lenny Henry who won the ‘Pave The Way’ award. Incredibly humble, he told the audience that he simply ‘stands on the shoulders of giants’ before thanking everyone who has inspired and come before him (a list that included everyone from Eddy Grant to Bob Marley and even Howard from the Halifax adverts!)

He ended saying,

“These are the giants whose shoulders I stand on and I hope next year somebody will be standing on my shoulders as long as it’s not CeeLo bl***** Green! Thank you for this – it’s lovely. Peace!”

The night ended with a super fun performance by the man in shimmering silver himself- CeeLo Green who has basically won at fashion in this shiny ensemble.

Love him!

After picking up the Outstanding Achievement award (for his music career, NOT the outfit), CeeLo brought down the house with a performance of all his top hits and the girls and I couldn’t sit in our seats any longer and took the opportunity to shake our booties!

Leaving the arena, the city was still buzzing with excitement and although we had to skip the after party despite being invited (weep) due to early morning commitments, we popped into a nearby bar for a quick nightcap.

What. A. Night.

So much freakin’ fun!
