Yes, I’m biased but I’m also honest (obvs) and my brother Solos’ restaurant Zuchinnis in Batley truly is the best Italian in Yorkshire if not within the entire UK! I’m so proud of my entrepreneurial little brother and how successful he’s been.

This is restaurant number 6 and his first solo enterprise after joining the family business after his Master’s. Nestled in the heart of Batley, this is elevated Italian fine dining in elegant surroundings: beautiful grande chandeliers hanging beside marble columns and a granite bar, with an adjacent rose pink function room for parties and special events where engagements, small weddings, baby showers and children’s parties are hosted!
The history of the restaurant is pretty incredible too, as it was previously Batley Variety Club which opened in 1967 and hosted global stars like Louis Armstrong, Roy Orbison, and the Bee Gees amongst many others.
That magical energy remains in the restaurant and a visit there feels electric making every experience there a memorable one. Energy doesn’t lie, nor does excellent, authentic food and a welcoming, fun atmosphere.

Having now sampled pretty much all of the menu (and specials) in the name *cough of research, the family’s go-tos most recently are below:
Garlic bread, carpaccio, white bait, calamari fritti for starters, mozzarella pizza and spaghetti bolognese for the kids… Fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce, grilled swordfish for mains, and italian ice cream, sorbet, and cheescake drizzled in a sweet berry sauce for desserts. Wow, wow, wow!

Utterly delicious food in ample portions for all of the family at great prices. What more could you want?

With Amy Winehouse and other tribute acts playing at Zuchinnis on special musical evenings as well as regular comedy nights, this restaurant is not only famous in the area but guests travel far and wide to visit for the best entertainment around.

Let me know if you give it a try! Well done Solly!
