I struggled to find a title I liked if I'm honest to begin with, I wanted to simply let this post flow before I pinned down the exact words I hoped would draw you in. That would encapsulate the meaning behind my words.
Britmums Live, the biggest parenting conference in the UK was a complete and utter whirlwind this weekend just gone, and as you can gather from the title, a wonderful one at that.
I know the advice is to use anti-wrinkle cream from the end of your 20's but I'm a bit of a later starter and have only started recently, at the grand old (not really old) age of 34.
Last Monday saw me attend a formal event in the staggeringly regal, gilded Music Room in Lancaster House by Buckingham Palace, to celebrate the Early Years education sector, hearing from and meeting some of the best practice providers in the UK.
Most of us have had terrible two year olds on our hands at some point haven't we-please tell me you can relate-that loss of control, the irritation, embarrassment and frankly, downright fatigue of dealing with a 2 going on 12 year old 'twonager'!
Yes we all know this stubbornness and quest for independence is formative, normal behaviour especially as 2 year olds can't yet reason, but it doesn't make it any less tough when you're in the midst of it all, does it?
PinterestLondon is always a whirlwind for me, and last Wednesday was no exception.
Taking my Mum along for a rare night away and quite the party (more of that soon), I had some exciting meetings by day (as always, I'll reveal more when I can)- as we made our way through chic coffee shops in Farringdon to the place I call home in the city, Charlotte Street Hotel, a bustling yet relaxing hub where meetings can turn to dinner easily, and being so close to Soho and the production company I have a TV series in development with, makes it the ideal place for my blogging and TV career to meet.
This Sunday I turn 34 and on the 10th my blog turned a whopping 4! Honest Mum was officially born on the 10th of November in 2010 but like to celebrate my very FIRST POST along with my birthday!
Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day as I spent it in London with my Mum (we arrived the night before) so I could speak on a prestigious panel for Mode Media first thing (Mode represent the display ads on my blogs) and set up this breakfast meeting with a panel on pro blogging and brand endorsement for a large audience of major UK brands.
My work as a professional blogger is so diverse that no day is ever the same and I love it all, firstly documenting our lives as family right here along with my other passions-writing, food, beauty and style.
If there wasn't enough anxiety-filled pressure when you're pregnant (big bump, little bump, too much weight, not enough) once you pop that baby out or have him airlifted as I did twice, first an emergency, second an elective (the latter a whole other set of pressures, of which I ignored wholeheartedly) you are quickly, at least with first baby anointed with parenting pressures.
Wow, it's my blog's 2 Year blogiversary (well it was on the 10th but I'm combining it with my 32nd birthday) and I can't quite believe it: two whole years since my very first post and I'm no longer 16 anymore. Shucks.
The blogging event of the century: BritMums Live is nearly upon us and I'm soooo excited to meet you all. Merging my two worlds of directing and blogging, I'll be there with camera kit and husband Peter shooting in tow, making a promo film for BritMums over the next 2 days.
