I have some exciting news to share, I’ve been working with NIVEA on an up to now, top secret skincare campaign where I was chosen to appear in an official film for them that will be out in June.
This is the first part of the campaign where I share my honest thoughts using their Q10 Plus products…
So let’s go back to the beginning somewhat… I know the general advice is to use anti-aging creams from the end of your 20’s but I’m a bit late to the party here, and have only started recently, at the grand old (not really old) age of 34.
I’m lucky that my skin is in ‘good nick’ really, I come from a family of frankly amazing skin-havers, my beloved Grandma Vikentia whom I’m named after didn’t have a single wrinkle at the incredible age of 96. Amazing.
I’m not sure I’ll be that lucky to be honest, the organic, mostly vegetarian lifestyle she led in Cyprus must have helped a lot, although I’m hoping genes play as big a part as we’re led to believe too. (Crosses fingers).
I do know that stress, age and diet can all affect our skin, and while I try and be as healthy as possible (mediterranean diet and yoga), juggling a young family with millions of deadlines means my skin needs help externally too.
Enter NIVEA Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle collection of products.
I’ve been trialling these for the past 2 months and already see and feel, a real difference in my skin.
I always used the day cream but it’s the first time I have used the whole Q10 range of products together.
Thanks to them. my face is now softer, more supple and although I’m yet to have any wrinkles (crosses fingers again), the collection will work to help fight and reduce those potential creases and lines if they do decide to appear.
The most noticeable difference firstly for me, is under my eyes.
A problem area (thanks little sleep-raiders), they have lightened and rapidly. The eye cream has hugely minimised my dark under-eye circles, making them less pronounced, and some days, as below, I go without concealer. Unheard of before I used this cream.
The most wonderful thing is, I’ve always trusted and adored NIVEA and believe it or not, it’s thanks to my Dad, Papa G.
As a child, I remember his large, round shiny, white tub of NIVEA moisturiser, all thick and creamy beneath that iconic silver foil wrapper (something which still remains today) and every time I use the products, it takes me right back to my childhood.
So how do I use the products?
To give you the quick lowdown on my routine, on clean skin, I use the anti wrinkle dewy serum pearls before dabbing on the day cream, then I apply my make-up.
By night, once cleansed, I use the serum pearls again, spread a thick layer of the night cream (I like to lay it on thick by night as love the way it feels) and a small amount of eye cream.
I adore the fresh, natural smell, the fact the creams are absorbed quickly, they are non- greasy but not drying and work perfectly for my sensitive skin.
For the first part of this campaign, here I am below, with very little make up so only my eyes and lips have some colour, with nothing on my face.
I only have one lick of mascara on my lashes, rose tinted lip balm on my lips, and my brows are threaded and dyed.
Really positive results, don’t you think?
The second part of the campaign, the film I’m in (showcasing several bloggers from different genres) isn’t actually me sharing my skincare routine as here, it was shot on another day with a full face of make up and is something quite different.
I can’t wait to showcase it here, when it’s released.
I can say that my daring sons appear in it with me and it was so much fun shooting as a little family with my gifted husband, Peter behind the camera ensuring it was a relaxed, joyful shoot for us all.
It’s an absolute honour working and featuring in a film for one of my all time favourite skincare brands, recognised and renowned, the world over.
It’s times like this I really do have to pinch myself that as a professional blogger I have these incredible opportunities to work with brands like NIVEA, I’ve always loved and use daily.
Without further ado though, below is my skincare routine in greater detail including directions for use and all the brilliant benefits of the products.
Nivea has honestly offered me a one stop moisturising, firming skincare routine and I’m so extremely grateful.
Quick and easy to apply, this routine means whatever my time constraints, I can ensure my skin is nourished and glowing.
1. Q10 plus anti-wrinkle serum pearls
With its pioneering technology, the new Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls really pampers my skin with those golden Q10 pearls.
From the instant I used this product, I loved how soft it made my skin feel, it didn’t irritate despite me having sensitive skin and made for the perfect foundation base cream before the day cream was applied.
Within the NIVEA Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle range, the Serum Pearls deliver the highest dosage of my skin’s own coenzyme Q10 which has been proven to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles while also helping to prevent the formation of new ones.
Sounds good to me! And my Mum has been using it too, to great effect.
I apply it on my cleansed face before the day or night cream, simply pressing the dispenser’s nozzle and using a tiny amount on my face.
The pearls dissolve into a silky serum that invisibly melts into my skin.
2. Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle age spot day cream
My go-to must-have day cream, if I miss a day, I really feel it.
I use it every morning, massaging into the skin, using small upward circular strokes, avoiding the eye area. It’s light, creamy and wakes up my face.
Q10 and Creatine are powerful active ingredients found naturally in the skin and with age their levels decrease.
As a result skin is more prone to damage by external influences, one of the main causes of premature skin-ageing.
This formula really fights against the appearance of wrinkles and leaves skin soft and firm.
It’s skin compatibility dermatologically approved so it’s suitable for all skin types. I love it.
3. Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream
This cream replenishes my skin at night (when I need the support most thanks to broken sleep) and supports its ability to regenerate itself and fight wrinkles. Everything I want and need from a night cream.
I’ve definitely noticed smoother, more youthful looking skin and I know these creams have all collectively played a big part in that.
4. Q10 Plus anti-wrinkle eye cream
NIVEA Q10 plus ANTI-WRINKLE Eye Cream is light and fast absorbing and has really reduced my dark under-eye circles. It also fights potential and existing for those with them, eye wrinkles.
Et voila. My whole face cleaned, prepped and moisturised with kind products that make a real difference.
I cannot recommend these products enough, they are now cabinet staples for me, skincare products I use daily and nightly, and couldn’t live without.
I’m really honoured to have also featured over on NIVEA’s FB page too!
Have you tried these products yet?
One thing I know for sure is, once my Dad reads this, he definitely will!
