Sunday Lunch at YO! Sushi Windsor + Competition

We’re blooming bonkers about YO! Sushi Windsor, (as those who follow us here, will undoubtedly know by now-yes, we practically live there) and last Sunday saw us enjoying a long lunch at the branch. …We’re actually back this Easter Sunday too and this time, the kids will be trying their hand at origami again, after previously loving the ancient craft, thanks to YouTube tutorials.

…We really are lucky little foodies here, and appreciate every single review, and mouthful, we get to eat.

Food has been a life-long passion of mine and since becoming vegan almost a year ago, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find so very many of my favourite restaurants adapting their menus and catering for the ever-increasing numbers of plant-based people like myself.

With an extensive vegan menu on offer, lunch or dinner at YO! Sushi is both an easy and delicious option for us all.

The kids love chicken katsu curry (without the sauce!), Peter laps up the fish and chicken based sushi/dishes (crunchy california roll, coriander tuna sashimi, chicken katsu roll, chicken gyoza below) and I’ve luckily tried every tofu and veggie based dish on the menu (avocado nigiri, yasai tamaki nori cone can be seen here), enjoyed of course with my much-loved miso soup I wish I could recreate at home (it’s NEVER the same).

YO! Sushi Windsor is situated in the famous Daniel department store (it has a royal warrant don’t you know)-with a dedicated entrance when the store is closed.

Thanks to its location, YO! Sushi makes for the perfect pick-me up in between shopping and equally serves as the ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch, or date night dinner. Our love for YO! Sushi runs deep, with the restaurant in Windsor even supporting my MUMBOSS book event with Waterstones Windsor last year, delighting attendees with sushi canapes, and it’s a firm favourite with my family and I.

Xander’s go-to dessert are the pretty custard Doryaki pancakes with raspberry coulis.
