It’s that time of year again when I make my annual pilgrimage to the spectacle that is the Cannes Film Festival.
This will be my 5th time at the festival having first attended aged 22 having just started out in the film industry following an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Having attended and in deed had my own films screened at film festivals across the world, from Berlin to LA and beyond, my heart lies with Cannes which is unbeatable in terms of glamour and fun.
The parties are simply out of this world and this is a window of opportunity for me to let my hair down, the only time in the year I get to go abroad with my friends!
The Cotes D’Azure is the perfect setting for 4 days of fun, sun and glamour with my parter in crime, Casting Director extraordinaire, Nicci Topping.
And of course there’s the outfits!
A weekend of dressing up in stunning dresses and possibly the only place in the world where it’s acceptable to wear heels on the beach!
Fashion over functionality in Cannes daaaaaahlings!
Here’s a few of my fave snaps from festivals gone by…
From a store in Cannes itself, this is the only maxi dress I’ve found that suits me!
For an evening screening and party, I’m wearing a stunning embellished lace dress by Jacques Vert
I love this LBD by Motel Rocks!
Some more shots below-
Huge Breton striped hat c/o Joules, pink dress by Fever London.
Above is my fave Aztec style print dress c/o Brazilian designer Lucidez and I’m carrying the yellow Brisbane bag by Nova Harley whom I’ve modelled for.
A lady in red! I love this glam 1940’s style figure hugging Julia V Neck Pencil Dress by Fever London
The dress below was picked up in Marbella and hasn’t been worn since Cannes last year so will be packed again this jaunt too! Shades are c/o Chanel.
Even the canines don tuxes in Cannes!
In addition to my own and that adorable pooch’s style, I of course love people watching and in particular checking out the AMAZING dresses from the red carpet.
So I wanted to dedicate today’s post to the gowns of Cannes and the best dressed celebrities from festivals gone by.
I j’adore this sparkling Dior mini worn by Marion Cotillard Accessorised with Chopard jewels its the perfect outfit to shine on the red carpet.
Toni Garrn dazzles in this shimmering gown. I love the subtle but sexy cut out detailing on the waist
Possibly my favourite red carpet dress of all time, Lupita Nyong’o looks like a goddess in this emerald Prada gown.
Immortalised by Liz Hurley in THAT dress, the thigh split is ultimate way to add sex appeal to a formal outfit. Here Doutzen Kroes puts here best leg forward in Mugler.
