Prezzo Italian’s Partnership with BBC Child in Need

Eat Well, Do Good: Join Prezzo Italian in Supporting Children Across the UK!

Prezzo Italian has launched a heartwarming new partnership with BBC Children in Need this May merging delicious Italian food with meaningful fundraising. We visited the York city centre branch (one of 96 across the country) for Sunday lunch so Florence had the chance to eat their excellent Pudsey Bear pizza and the husband and I could enjoy a hearty and yummy lunch in beautiful surroundings.

At the heart of this new partnership, you are invited to support the charity through a simple £1 “Pasta for Pudsey” donation. With every small contribution added to the bill, diners can help make a big difference to children and young people across the country. Supported by in-restaurant activity (colouring-in, puzzles and 3D glasses) and a dedicated kids’ menu, the initiative makes giving back easy, fun and family-friendly.

The partnership will continue to grow throughout the year, with both Prezzo Italian’s local restaurant and national teams taking part in a whole host of fundraising activities to support the charity. From community events and family fun days to sponsored challenges and seasonal campaigns, colleagues across the business will be coming together to raise vital funds and spread smiles along the way.

Claire Hoyle, Interim CEO of BBC Children in Need said: “For over 40 years, Pudsey has been bringing people together through fundraising so what a natural fit to be partnering with Prezzo Italian who bring people together through food. With money raised through the Pasta for Pudsey campaign we’ll be able to continue funding projects in communities across the UK who are providing vital support to children facing really tough challenges – from mental health and illness or disability, to poverty and inequality.”

What a brilliant initiative.

In case you want a snoop into what we devoured for lunch, drool over this:

Marinated olives, delicate garlic bread, crispy calamari, oven-baked king prawns and creamy hummus with veggies for Florence plus the Pudsey pizza of course, followed by Carbona, a juicy burger and king prawn and salmon pasta.

The carbonara was literally the best I’ve ever eaten (the addition of crispy pancetta elevated it) and if you want an added hit of protein you can opt for chicken on top. Broccoli and side salad provided a healthy addition of fibre!

And as if we weren’t full enough (we were), lemon meringue and mango sorbet with chocolate sauce and sprinkles Florence designed from the children’s menu was the perfect end to the meal. You might have guessed that we shared everything! Sharing is caring!

Peach iced tea and its cherry equivalent were refreshing drinks we plumped for, you simply won’t find quite as lovely elsewhere.

Cheers to that and raising money for Children In Need.

This was a complimentary meal but a tip and donation were given.
