Lullabies My Way!.
So I do love a sing song (even if only my kids appreciate my voice) which as it goes, they do. A lot.
And I’m not that bad really. I have a husky voice so people often ask me if I’ve got a good set of lungs on me! Let’s say I’m OK!
Recently I’ve been introducing my son, Oliver, aged 3, nearly 4, to the delights of music, well my music and musicals I love and which defined my childhood and it’s been a touching time for us.
I’ve mostly been Googling lyrics for songs I like along with Youtube videos which we watch post bedtime stories, pre-sleep time to help him relax! Lullabies, my way!
It really is our precious, sing along, soothing time together and I adore it. Nearly as much as the actual singing itself.
So first up:
Mr Sandman which is preceded by this beautiful rendition ‘Mister Sandman’ by brilliant The Chordettes sang by Pomplamousse Music on Youtube first, you’re welcome:
Then we usually get to Bugsy Malone (watching the non-shooting singing clips) with My Name is Tallulah and So you Wanna Be a Boxer as current faves. I adore that film and would watch it over and over as a child!
Next, we have some Grease classics with Greased Lightning, You’re the One that I Want and Tears on my Pillow. I think it’s time we watched the film and danced round the living together to it!
So what do you sing to your little ones?
