Getting Ready for the Big Day at My Folks’

We are all incredibly excited to be heading to my folks’ house, the home I grew up in, for the big day this year, and that means being prepared. Here I am packing the car up about to embark of one of the many #Journeysthatmatter to me, something that Esso are highlighting this season.

Last year, I was one flustered mama wrapping presents under the tree at the last minute, so it was all about being organised for me, this year.

Wednesday saw me wrap all the presents up, big and small, and pack them in the car before driving to my folks’ house 15 minutes away and dropping some of the parcels under their tree.

I also hid some presents upstairs in my old bedroom, where the children won’t find them so Santa’s duties are covered!

I actually told my kids I’d emailed Santa to tell him we were sleeping at my parents’ so as not to worry them. Santa is so high tech you know!

It was so much fun getting organised.

It’s one of my most favourite videos Peter and I have made together. We both shot this on our cameras, and Peter edited it together.

Nothing like a bit of marital team work.

It’s one I’ll reflect on for years to come and treasure-the careful preparations we made to ensure the season would be special for my family.
