Florence was living her best life at yesterday’s class at The Little Gym in North Leeds so I had to share a few photos I grabbed (not easy as she was constantly on the move but cute nonetheless)!
This is the second time she’s attended The Little Gym after a trial session, and the first time my Mum accompanied us so she could watch Florence explore, learn and play (which she loved).
The classes are ideal for socialisation and Florence thrived around other little ones, smiling, stroking fellow babies’ hair and watching them try out the activities. Some were Baby Olympians, let me tell you, balancing from bars and rolling with ease. It was inspiring watching them.
There was an emphasis on ‘praise and reward’ in the class, building the babies’ confidence as they tried new activities, encouraging them to crawl, walk and even run as parents jogged around in a circle at one point, their children’s hands in theirs. I was grateful for the workout myself as I never find time to run these days (I mean I run after Florence all day long but miss long runs pre baby so can’t wait for more time to let off steam).
Florence enjoyed observing the other babies, playing with the football (thanks to Xander’s lessons) and walking across a plank before watching the bubbles. We can’t wait for next week, already!
Little Gyms are all over the country with classes supporting babies 4 months + in every area of their development from assisting with muscle control and motor skills to building confidence and independence as well as encouraging colour, language and number recognition. Most importantly they’re incredibly fun, for both parent and child!
