I’m incredibly proud to be an ambassador for a hair care brand I’ve loved for what seems like forever: Herbal Essences. It’s the perfect collaboration for me as I’ve used their products since I was a teen, having first been introduced to them by my Mum (and fellow big hair-haver) and the new Herbal Essences bio: renew collection has totally transformed my hair in the last 5 months, when I started using them.
My locks have never felt softer or looked shinier and that’s a statement I didn’t think I’d write now I’ve just turned 37, truth be told.
In fact, come to think of it, I feel the most confident I ever have, right now, at this age.
I truly like myself.
Admitting that is an act of courage in itself (sadly), but I know myself deeply and better than I have before. I acknowledge my strengths and weaknesses too (which I’m endless working on) and I (FINALLY) love the skin, and hair) I’m in. Yay!
That’s growing up for you though, isn’t it?! Growing older and facing great joy (meeting my husband, having kids, career) along with inevitable adversity has allowed me to recognise what truly matters in life. It ‘s stopped me sweating the small stuff and allows me to LIVE in caps.
I don’t want to waste a minute. Not when it comes to my career, family-life or even on my hair care routine.
I’ve never viewed growing older as a negative thing. My grandma lived until she was 96, her mother was 110! Maturing is a privilege many are sadly denied and it’s something I will never take for granted.
Growing older has meant knowing what suits me when it come to hair-care, skincare and make-up too meaning not only do I feel my best at 37 but I look it too. I literally cringe at old photos where my make-up and hair style failed to suit me: brassy highlights and bright blue eye shadow were not my friends! Now I know that big curls or sleek straight locks, with an eyeliner flick and ruby red lips is the way to go.
Yes, I’m FAR more tired these days (thanks kids) but my heart is fit to burst and I’ve reached many life and professional goals I’d never thought possible. There are many more dreams which await too of course: directing my debut feature film one day, and my book, Mumboss, hits the shelves in May marking new chapters, literally, which await me.
I’ve loved learning so much over this past year. By pushing myself out of my comfort zone, consistently, I feel I’ve grown hugely.
My biggest hair lesson has been using products that love my hair back, and give me the results I’ve always wanted. Herbal Essences bio: renew collection does just that and they’re GROUNDBREAKING to boot, designed to suit every hair type and need out there!
Histidine, a natural purifier in the body, is the building block of the range’s ingredient blend which also contains Sea Kelp and Aloe. These ingredients help remove the build-up of free radicals and get to work at each and every wash leaving your hair full of life and incredibly smooth too.
I’m using the Hydrate Coconut Milk duo which give my hair an extra nourishing boost.
My locks are thick and prone to frizz but have been totally tamed thanks to Herbal Essences: bio renew, and I literally can’t stop touching my hair (if you want my Facebook Live and Instagram stories, you’ll know that to be true)!
You can buy the Herbal Essences bio: renew range at Tesco including the Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner, and do follow them on Instagram HERE.
