Big Easy Weekend Brunch With Lela London & the Family

The greatest thing about blogging, aside from taking the bambinos travelling, of course, are the can’t-live-without friendships that have come because of it. The people I don’t actually remember not ever being friends with!

These mates of mine are the most bad-ass women you can imagine (and a scattering of cool dudes-hi Daddies) who quite simply ‘get me’, and I them and they all, of course, share my love of food and fashion. The basis of all great friendship right?!

My girl, the crazy-talented Lela London- of eponymous lifestyle and travel blog-is one of those gals, a great friend: vibrant, so smart and incredibly sisterly too, she’s a sunbeam of positive energy and good vibes (and was fittingly a rainbow queen when we met after her 5k Colour Run where they throw coloured powders over participants).

Real friendship should be easy, life-affirming and most importantly, fun. And that’s what Sunday was. An easy lunch at Big Easy!

The sweetie that she is, LL arranged this laid-back easy like a Sunday morning feast for us all, meeting my husband and kids for the first time which was a little bit awesome (Xander fell in love with LL as I knew he would-even asking her for Booby milk he’s not had in year-erm) and we all got to meet her gorgeous beau, Michael too. Too much fun!

…Lela London literally has the keys to the city (you want a table somewhere, Lela’s on it)-and the beautiful Big Easy in Covent Garden with its dark wooden interiors, low hanging lights & statement neons makes the perfect hangout for adults (and kids) like us who just can’t say no to fries and mayo. Never trust a person who can btw! #totesdodgy.

What’s more, the Big Easy’s Weekend Brunch is an unlimited boozy brunch (hic) available on Sat & Sun (9am-5pm) offering 2 hours of unlimited Big Easy Brew, Prosecco and House Wine, and the kids eat free* (high fives all round).

So, after drooling over the short but sweet menu, we did what any blogger worth their salt would do and got a bit of everything (natch), the kids plumping for big juicy beef burgers and all the trimmings, Lela: golden waffles topped with crispy bacon and lashings of maple syrup, our men, Peter and Michael: light and succulent lobster rolls, and I, a smoked salmon on a cream cheese sourdough bagel- the perfect brunch with a crunch. Oh and I almost forgot the creamiest of mac ‘n’ cheese with chunks of lobster in we all dived into which rounded off this dreamy brunch.

So, after Prosecco and beer had been consumed by we big ones and milkshakes sucked up by the minions, we left or rather rolled out of Big Easy as happy as Larry, tummies full, jaws aching with laughter and hearts bursting with that happy-making feeling that only comes from comforting mac ‘n’ cheese and killer company.

All the feels.
