Autumn Family Style: What We’ve Been Wearing Lately.
So, I meant to write up separate posts for each individual outfit you can see below but then I thought, why not combine all these recent style shots into a one little look book of a post or a mini catalogue more like and give you guys a fashion overview of what we’ve all been wearing lately.
I say ‘all’ but you know how hard it is to get my husband on this blog so I’m sharing mine and the kids’ style as Mr Honest Mum played paparazzo.
So go check it out- our autumnal style with a token smattering of russet leaves and evergreen trees dancing in the magical October light.
Has to be done right?!
Enjoy!
Hello river banks of ‘beautifulness’. Where we live is rather dreamy I must admit. Yorkshire we love ya!
We literally LIVE for our weekend strolls by the river near our home and I’m honestly not sure I’m ever more relaxed than by the water.
It feels like home. Because it is.
Lush.
Fashion-wise, both boys naturally suit blue and whilst their wardrobe bursts with every colour in the rainbow and I’m a fan of non gender biased clothes, they suit this hue so wear it often. If I had a daughter and she suited it, I’d do the same.
Here, Xander rocks the double denim look in a way ‘Britney and Just’ could only ever dream of back in the day!
We paired super chic me&i jeans with this stunning Zara kids shirt my bestie Carlie bought him for his birthday.
What a dude- and he even unintentionally matches his scooter!
…Oliver is all about the checks with his timeless Ralph Lauren Kids shirt.
I buy RL from the York Designer Outlet at discounted prices and usually opt for items one size bigger than usual to get the most wear out of them.
I’ve found the pieces last forever with Xander inheriting Oliver’s designer hand me downs.
Oliver pairs the classic shirt with H&M jeans and gifted Clarks trainers. He looks so grown up here (it’s almost caught me unawares) with both boys shooting up this summer.
I’m wearing my new, oversized spotty jumper by H&M with a woollen print skirt from New Look bought earlier in the year. Boots are Barbour, gifted last year.
Bag is my Louis Vuitton neverfull which holds my entire life day to day and signature gold hoops are H&M too!
If you look closely you’ll see little Xander hiding between my legs.
These kids crack me up!
Here are some more happy-making photos, shots of us hanging out at the park or having a scoot on the riverside-just moments caught during our chilled out weekends as we take life that bit easier, spending time outdoors, baking in and winding down.
I heart this action swing shot! Wee!
Xander’s denim look pumps are H&M and he’s worn this pair to death (literally). If you look closely, you can see a hole appearing and new shoes have been ordered as I type.
‘Smile, Oliver’!
Just look at that toothless grin!
I adore the light in this one…I literally can’t remember my two boys as babies now. I’m too flipping young *cough to have a 6 and 4 year old, surely?!
Cheeky little smiler 🙂
And look at that little focused face…Do I head to the swings or hit the seesaw? Decisions, decisions!
Here are some more shots I’ve curated of recent days gone by.
This Grandpa jumper from Next picked up last year is being rocked once more, now the cold is settling in *wail. Xander looks so cuddly in it like one giant, sweet teddy bear I can’t stop kissing (he’s going to hate this post when he’s a teenager isn’t he?!)
To make up for it Xander, he’s a cuddly pic of me too as I wear my fave warm and furry gilet from Topshop over a broderie anglaise Zara midi sleeved top.
I picked the gilet up in the summer and love it wearing it with literally everything I own-a floral tea dress or deep blue jeans and a plain tee by day, and boho-ing up an LBD by night!
Plus, I liked this slightly cringy ‘eyes looking away, hair in the wind’ shot so much I made it my new profile pic!
What do you think?
Something different until I get bored again hey?!
Now onwards to York last weekend as we got our pose on in the historical city and snapped anything and everything insta worthy as usual!
Pink wall posing is everything right?!
Xander literally cried that he wasn’t in the first shot Peter took (bless).
He’s definitely a #bloggerschild that’s for sure!
Below I wear Chloe shades (which are getting their own dedicated post soon by the way), chunky beads by Fever London, hoops and 70’s style green print top by H&M, pleather style brown skirt by Warehouse and cardi by Zara. Boots as before.
This is a merge of 60’s and 70’s and simply made me happy.
I actually think my Mum owned curtains in the 70’s that looked like my top- which only made me love it more!
Xander wears his brother’s blue coat which is two sizes too big (and I’ve no idea where it’s from #soz), jeans c/o me&i and trainers c/o Clarks.
The boys like to dress themselves these day so this is all their stylish doing!
Xander opted for this Fox jumper he spotted on our recent food shop in Sainsbury’s which saw Oliver devastated they didn’t have it in his size.
Oliver’s motorbike top is Nutmeg, jeans are Zara, trainers c/o Clarks and the hooded gilet is a gift from my great friend Nomita from Your DIY Family.
Cool dudes or what?
Now I’m taking you across the M1, back in time to the late summer as I posed in a dress which requires sharing (again) in all its autumnal glory: my Zara mid-length beauty.
Here I am hogging a pretty red door in the capital which matched my Next chunky 70’s style sandals as I crossed my fingers no one would come out and think (rightly so) how much of a dingbat I am! #Bloggerproblems.
I also wore this broderie anglaise Zara top over a dress I picked up in Marbs last year which shows the power of layers and getting the most out of your summer wardrobe too.
I love to get my transitional wardrobe working hard, pairing summer dresses with thick tights, cardies and knee highs where I can.
These sparkly wedged sandals I lived in all summer are M&S…
…And you can see I’ve been getting a lot of wear out of the spotty H&M jumper too.
Here, I paired it with my River Island black leather biker jacket (the leather is buttery smooth) with Topshop hoops and ripped Jamie jeans; boots as before. Maybe a bit overdressed for a stroll in the woods but that’s just me!
I’ve been living in this oversized leopard print coat I picked up years ago from Topshop. I changed the buttons to antique ones and hope to still be rocking this rock in my 80s!
Shades are Chloe, dress c/o House of Fraser and wellies are my trusty navy Hunter boots.
Oh and before I go, I have to share these absolute bargains I picked up in Sainsbury’s recently.
On the sale rail they were reduced to literally a few pounds each. The first time I’ve bought a dress from Sainsbury’s too and I’m seriously impressed!
My nephew is just too cute!
I’ll pair this pretty cotton floral frock with tights now and suede ankle boots.
Chanel shades are gifted and my faves; bag, hoops and sandals as before.
Lastly, last night at the Halloween and Christmas pre-opening event at Stockeld Park, I wrapped up warm in my mum’s vintage 40s velvet coat. What a beaut! I’ve borrowed it forever 😉
So, that’s some of our autumn style (with some sneaky end of summer images too).
